a/n: hey guys! something a little different today, i saw this idea on another imagines book and i wanted to do this with merder to give you all an insight on my opinions of merder as parents!

a: affectionate (which parent is more affectionate?)

i feel like meredith would be! i think she would be more affectionate towards you as her parents weren't very affectionate to her. but derek would of course still be quite affectionate <3

b: buyer (who buys you more stuff/ who spoils you more)

derek! he would buy you basically anything you ask for within reason, he would love to spoil you.

c: cuddles (who's the hugger parent?)
i think meredith would be more of a hugger. she would give you random cuddles when you're eating or something because her parents never really done that for her. but derek would still be quite a cuddle bear aw🥺

d: disciplinarian (who disciplines more?)
derek would be more of the disciplined parent in my opinion, he would be very overprotective and only wants the best for you.

e: exciting activities (what exciting activities do you partake in with your parents?)
your dad would definitely drag you and your mom on a boat to go fishing! at the start you and your mom hated it until you caught a huge fish and now you all enjoy it.
f: funnier (which parent is funnier/ makes you laugh more?)
meredith would make you laugh with her dark humour 😭 she would be like "i cant forget my keys or else i'll end up like my mother" HAHAHAHA

g:games (what games would you play together as a family?)
operation! you would play it together for fun but your mom would defo turn it into a surgery. she would be like "scalpel. oh wait there isn't one. okay pass that thingy" LOLLLL

h: hospital (which of your parents' friends from the hospital are you closest with?)
most of your family work there but you would be close with cristina and mark, they were like your aunt and uncle and you could go to them for basically anything.

i: internet (what social media's do your parents allow you to have?)
i think you would be allowed basically everything when you turned 13 but since your dad was a neurosurgeon and knew about the effects of blue lights at a young age blah blah you would have a reduced ipad time for games when you were like nine

j: jokes(which parent jokes around more and which is more serious?)
i think both would joke around but be very serious at times

k: kid around(which parent could you kid around more without them taking it seriously?)
meredith would probably turn it into a lecture but derek would just laugh along even if he didn't understand the joke😭

l:loving(something your parents do for you that shows how much they love you)
if you've been doing lots of homework for a long time, they would order take-out and you would all watch a movie together and sometimes go to the mall!

m:money(which parent gives you more money when you ask)
derek! he would ask what you need it for but give it to you unless you need like a stupid amount for something useless

n: nicknames(what nicknames or pet names dk your parents call you)
both of your parents would call you a shortened version of your name for example my name is ruby so they would call me "rubes" or "rube". but mer would call you sweetie and derek would call you "honey" awww

o:open (which parent are you more open with/ feel comfortable telling anything to)
both of your parents would be very open but you would go to meredith more because you know you're dad will overreact if it's about a person you like who you're having troubles with

p:patient (which parent is more patient with you)
honestly i feel like both of your parents will be very patient and understanding with you, they know that you need space and want them to be patient with you.

q:questions (which parent do you feel more comfortable asking questions to)
i feel like you would go to meredith for more personal questions about crushes, periods etc. but you would go to derek for academic advice :)

r: random (a random thing you do with each parent)
you would obviously go on ferry boats with your dad often, it was kinda like your thing. but i feel like you and meredith would have karaoke nights where you would sing to old 90s music from when your mom was a teen.

s: strict (which parent is more strict and which is more lenient)
honestly i think it depends on the situation. if something happens at school with your grades or something derek would be more strict but if you lied or snuck out or something meredith would be so much more strict LMAOOO

t:tasty (which parent is a better cook)
derek. no question. i love my girl meredith but she can't cook 👍

u: unfortunate (what tragedy is hat happened to your family affected you the most)
probably the plane crash. your aunt and uncle died because of it, your dad's hand was crushed for months and when they were in the woods you couldn't sleep as you didn't know what happened or where they were.

v: vacation (where would you and your parents vacation together)
your mom would decide to take you all to europe almost every summer to show you what her life was like in her travelling days with sadie!

w: wacky (something crazy that has happened in you and your parents' life( bad or good)
zola's adoption! you were so excited you were finally getting a sister and even though it wasn't the 'normal' way of becoming a sibling, you were so happy that this little girl was joining your family.

x: x-ray (do your parents want you to be a doctor/ surgeon like them)
they would encourage you to be one, but they always left it up to you what you do and will be supportive no matter what.

y: yearly (what yearly holiday do you and your parents like celebrating together)
your birthday! they always go O.T.T with parties, decor and everything else but you loved it so much🥺

z: zodiac sign (what's your zodiac sign according to your parents)
i don't know much about astrology but i feel like you would be an aries or virgo!!
