you were up studying all night and you fell asleep on the kitchen counter, your books spread out all around you.
"morning!" your mom calls as she walks down the stairs. you jump up and rub your eyes, wondering when you fell asleep.
"what time is it?" you ask, still half asleep
"eight am. don't tell me you were studying all night again y/n" she sighs
"i need to get this project done and my group is a bunch of morons who can hardly do 5th grade math so i took control because y/n grey-shepherd does not fail" you explain
"you need to give your body a break honey!" she says and hands you a glass of water "i have an idea"
"what is it?" you ask and your mom smiles
"girls day out. no school for you and no work for me. we can go shopping, watch movies, anything you want!" she excitedly says
"are you sure? i don't want you to get in trouble for missing work and i need to work on this project" you consider
"i own part of the hospital, i can do whatever i want! and you've worked hard enough on that project so you need a break. please? we haven't done a girls day out in ages" mom pleaded
"sure, why not! it'll be fun!" you laugh
your mom jumps up and hugs you "yay! let me call bailey and your school!"
over the phone:
"grey?" bailey asks "hey bailey, y/n's been sick this morning and i can't leave her alone all day because derek is at work. is it okay if i get the day off?" mom lies "okay grey, i hope y/n gets better by tomorrow so you can come in. bye"
"perfect! one down, one too go until girls day out" mom smiles "i'll fake being sick in the background" you nod and your mom begins to call your school.
"seattle high school, how can i help?" "hi it's meredith grey here, my daughter y/n is very unwell today, she's been sick and has a high temperature so i won't be sending her into school today" mom lies "cough i'm so sick cough" you unsuccessfully lie "shhhh" mom whispers and you smile "okay hope she gets well soon bye now!"
"yay! it worked! girls day out is a-go!" you smile
"you are so bad at faking a cough, i'm surprised seeing as you basically grew up in hospitals" mom laughs "go get changed, we're going to the mall!".
you run up to your room and put on this outfit with your hair down and basic makeup:

"you ready?" mom calls from her room "yep!" you say and meet her by the stairs "gorgeous! we're kinda matching!" mom says. she's wearing a green top and black shorts with white jordan's. you get in the car and drive to the the mall within five minutes when mom's phone starts to ring. you pick it up and read the contact.
