A very windy night there were, a boy named Alfa wants to play in the blizzard. His mother forbids him to go outside in the middle of the night at all. Thus, the good boy played inside. He pretends he is building a snowman, a really big one. Soon after, he pretends he plays the ball with other kids outside.
Such a wonderful game. Joy fills his heart, telling himself that one day his mother would leave him be; playing in the snow although it's already late.
His eyes glanced to the window. Alfa walks closer only to see that there is nobody outside. Such a strange thing, he thought, usually some children would play in the night. Filled the emptiness with such graceful laughs.
Alfa didn't think much about it and continues playing with his toys. Not even a second later, he hears something scratching the window. Maybe it's a branch, he thought, but he immediately felt something was off.
His house was built with no trees around. What branch could possibly scratching the window? Sure, it is a windy night, but where did the branch come from?
The good boy froze, doesn't even dare to steal a glance off of the window. How trembling he was, thinking something dangerous is waiting for him outside.
"Alfa," his mom called. Alfa could tell the voice is coming from the kitchen, so he went there just to find no one was there. He calmed himself, thinking maybe he missheard things but then the voice went again.
Maybe Mom is in her room, he said. Thus, he went to his mother's room just to find his mother is combing her hair softly.
The woman looked back, smiled at the boy. "Weren't you playing, Dear? Are you tired yet?"
Alfa shooked his head weakly. "No, Mom. I just feel like I'm ... scared. Can I sleep with you tonight?"
Fuyu, his mom, looked worridly at him. "Why do you feel that way? Is there something bothering you that I need to know?"
"It's just the scratching voice on the window."
"Oh, Dear," Fuyu approaches Alfa. She strokes his hair, giggled a bit before she kissed his forehead. "There is nothing to be scared of. You're home, this is the safest place you could've lived in."
With such words, Fuyu calmed Alfa down. Her son looked so much better, but also looked tired. In the next minutes, they went to sleep like nothing. That is, until Alfa woke up early in the morning.
It was three in the morning, he woke up due to his thirst of water. So, he went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water. Everything went fine until he hears the scratching coming along with his steps.
His fear filled his lungs, suffocating him more to the feeling where he's being watched. His entire body froze, he breaths heavily, his sweats turn cold. It's just like the whole world is spinning above him.
