The week passes by quickly in the Glade. Clint stays in the medhut, looking after Kenny and doing all that he can do to keep him alive, but it is clear that his body is deteriorating.

Dan has been in the hut since the night it happened, barely even leaving Kenny's side to eat. He has not been working, courtesy of Gally, who so kindly granted him the time off so he can stay with Kenny.

Knowing what was in store for the boy, the keeper felt it was only right to do so. Luckily for him, nobody batted an eyelid when he made the suggestion - not that it would have swayed his decision anyway.

Adeline, on the other hand, has been putting every ounce of energy she has into working. When she is not in the kitchen, she is helping Henry with building new beds for the Homestead, or feeding the animals so that Winston does not need too.

On this day, however, she has not left her room. Deciding that locking herself away from the world and pretending that the Gladers are not just about to toss a dying boy into an elevator and hope for the best.

A small knock at the door brings her back to reality, but she ignores it, not really in the mood to deal with anything but her own mental state today.

But after a moment of silence, the door begins to open. "Addy, you okay in there?" the boy questions, peering his head in slightly.

The girl rolls her eyes before spinning on her bed, sitting upright and spotting Nick stood by the threshold. The frown she once held now a smile as she gives him a thumbs up.

Nick steps into the room completely, closing the door behind him and standing just in front of it. In his hands lays a cardboard box, taped up and secure to not allow any of the items within it to drop out. "This came up with the supplies" he says, lifting the box higher so she can see, "has your name on it."

Adeline furrows her brows before standing up and accepting the box from the boy. Laying it down on the ground, the pair crouch down and open it.

Inside lays various items, from tins of soup to painkillers and lozenges.

"Must of seen what happened with Kenny" Nick suggests, digging his hands deeper into the box and pulling out a towel and a large plastic bowl. "How are these supposed to help?"

The girl goes to speak, but falters upon seeing the look on Nick's face.

"Use your book" he commands, raising an eyebrow and pointing down to the book which lays by the side of her sleeping bag.

Throwing her head back and releasing a small groan in annoyance, Adeline leans down to the side of the box, picking up a small note which was taped to the side before handing it to Nick.

Adeline.

In this box, you will find the following;

• Salt. Garle this with warm water.

• Pain killers. Do you take more than two  every four hours.

• Lozenges. To soothe any inflammation.

• Towel and bowl. Fill the bowl with hot water. Put your head above the bowl and place the towel over it. The steam with help.

• Soup. To make things a little easier in the kitchen.

"T?" Nick questions, handing the note back to the girl, "Who's 'T'?"

Adeline merely shrugs her shoulders in response, waiting for the boy to look away before allowing her eyes to widen at the note.
