A/N There's more death in this one... sorry
------

The morning flies by fairly quickly for the Gladers, and by time they know it, it is almost three in the afternoon.

What had originally started out as a team effort, has managed to whittle down to only the builders.

Alby and Nick have been present, although they have not been much help. As the two leaders, they thought it best that they sit on the sidelines and make sure everything runs smoothly.

But in actual fact, they are just using it as as reason to lay in the sun all day.

Adeline has also not accomplished much. All she has really done to contribute is hand each builder various tools, planks of wood and rope each time they request it.

Not that Gally would let her do much else, anyway.

The keeper gave her strict instructions from the get go that, if she really did want to be of any use, that she is best to stay out of their way.

However, this was mainly for the builders safety rather than hers.

So that is why she has been spending the majority of her time sat next to Gally, ripping blades of grass from the ground and tying them in small knots.

"I still think you should have built it around that tree over there" the girl mumbles, not peeling her eyes away from her hands.

Gally pauses for a moment, closing his eyes and inhaling a deep breath as he counts to ten in his head. "I've already said this... it's fine."

"But do you not think it would be more secure? Sturdy?"

The keeper merely scoffs in response as he continues on with his task of hammering nails into planks of wood.

Adeline furrows her brows and glances up to the boy, only to find him shaking his head at her while keeping his eyes trained on his task. "It was just a suggestion."

"Yea, a suggestion that you've made six times already, Adeline" the builder whines, pushing himself away from the ground, his backside landing on his heels. "Listen, you're not a builder, okay? You're a runner."

"And a cook."

"And a giant pain in the ass. You-" Gally starts, but cuts himself off as he inhales a deep breath. "Go sit with Nick and Alby for a bit. I'll call you over if I need anything."

"Fine, fine, I'm going. No need to get your knickers in a twist" the girl mutters in response as she stands up. She goes to walk away, but turns at the last moment to look down at him. "And by the way, the word is arse."

"Go!"

"Alright, I'm going, I'm going" Adeline says, raising her hands in defence before spinning around and charges over to the two leaders.

"Trouble in paradise?" Nick asks, watching the girl approach with a small smirk playing on his lips.

"Yea" the girl responds. She stops just in front of them, crosses her ankles over each other before falling down to the ground. "Guy's a dick."

Alby does not move from his position, does not even open his eyes as he speaks to the girl. "Is he a dick? Or are you just in a mood?"

"A little bit of both" Adeline admits, hunching her shoulders down and dropping her hands in the small gap between her legs.

The girl shuffles around on the grass and lays down in the middle of the two boys, closing her eyes and clutching onto her lower abdomen with her face scrunched up in pain.
