Banishment.

An inevitable decision.

It did not take long for the meeting to end on that conclusion.

After all, Winston had killed someone.

Regardless of the fact that many of the boys believe it was the work of the creators, the slicer had still harmed another, subsequently breaking one of their only rules. Although there are only three of them, the regulations are held with the highest of regards, and breaking one has always been coupled with detrimental consequences.

Murderous behaviour is simply not permitted within the confides of the Glade.

Well, they would assume that it is not permitted anywhere, for that matter.

Adeline, herself, finds that she has not been overly affected at all by the events. Which, of course, she feels guilty for, as it is a horrendous situation for anyone to end up in.

But she just was not that close with either boys.

She also does not buy into all this the creators did it crap - as she so eloquently put it. In her eyes, she has done nothing to warrant such behaviour from them, so why now, would they go back on their word and begin to tear apart her home?

She has the power to destroy their entire operation, so why would they toy with the possibility?

It just makes absolutely no sense to the girl, because she has done. nothing. wrong... right?

Adeline is certain that not one word, not even so much as one syllable, has been mentioned about her memories. She is sure of it.

She racks her brain, the wheels in her head turning and turning, every reel of her time in the Glade, the scripts containing every word she has every spoken, all laid out bare on the floor in her mind.

But she comes up with nothing. It simply could not have happened.

Adeline is not that careless.

So it must be a joke. Just a trick that some of the boys had concocted to screw with the minds of the other Gladers. And, she would bet her next meal that it was the conniving work of the builders.

Of course it would be them that would come up with something so deceitful. It is a well known fact that they loathe almost every person here.

The builders like nobody and nobody likes the builders.

That saying gets tossed around the Glade on a daily basis. Like a ball, worn out and burst, void of all colour and vibrance from a lifetime of being kicked and thrown.

It was just a game, Adeline tell herself.

Just a trick.

Tim's death was murder in cold blood - simple as that.

And, although it is a heartbreaking affair, Adeline does not give her brain a chance to even swirl over the topic. It would do no good to dwell, not when she she did not speak to either Tim nor Winston.

So rather than allow her mind to wander onto topics that do not concern her, the girl has spent the majority of her day Clint and Jeff.

She quickly realised that feigning ignorance is a fairly easy chore when in the company of the two Med-Jacks, for the trio have spent the most part of the afternoon having a good old bitch and moan about all the drama of the Glade - but most importantly, both boys have been using this time to rip into the poor girl, taunting her over each one of her visits, and the reasons for them.
