Fate POV

It was quite lucky that we ended up finding a carriage and two horses to pull it. But hey, I'm not complaining.

It's been a couple hours since we've left the village and it'd be another few days till we reached the capital. The guild had given me and Ambrosia a weeks time to clear out the cultists and return. But since using •flicker• made it so that we got to the village on the first day and it only took a few hours to actually clear the village, we have tons of time.

When I got out of the dome Y/N made, it was evening so I suggested we stay at the village for a night. Irene didn't want to waste time and wanted to get to the capital ASAP. It was almost dark out but Irene insisted that we kept going. So here we are, me and Irene are sitting face to face with a dead body laying on the floor of the carriage next to us.

We took Y/N's body as extra proof that we completed the quest. Ambrosia was currently driving the carriage and Risu, as per usual, was sitting on my shoulders. The woman across from me had her arms and legs crossed and looked directly into my eyes trying to exert her authority using an angry look.

It didn't work on me.

Fate: "Do I have something on my face?" I ask as a joke.

Irene unflinchingly keeps her stare without a word.

Fate: "Is this my punishment? The silent treatment?"

No response.

I attempt to make a funny face.

The only noise that was made came from a snoring Risu.

Even just sitting idly there was still a certain fire in Irene's eyes. Time to switch tactics.

Fate: "You have really pretty eyes you know." I say matter of factly.

I hear a surprised noise from the front of the carriage. Ambrosia seemed shocked at my random compliment to Irene. Irene's face twitches a bit as she tries to remain unfazed, making it seem like my tactic worked.

So I continue my attack.

Fate: "There is a certain fiery passion in there that I find... very attractive." I say in a bit of a more sultry tone

Another surprised noise from Ambrosia and a small jerk in the carriage. Once again, Irene's face twitches, more than once this time.

Fate: "I can see why Y/N wanted to marry you. I'd love to wake up to those fierce eyes in the morning." I say running my tongue along my lips.

Again the carriage jerks a bit and Irene starts to slightly squirm in her seat. Her angry face has dialled down a bit into a sorta nervous lip bite.

I lean a bit closer and Irene flinches as she tries to keep her gaze. Then I smirk a very special smirk. One with lowered lashes and accompanied by a husky voice filled with implications.

Fate: "I wonder if that fiery attitude carries over on in the bedroo-"

Irene: "Okay that's enough!" She shouts pushing her hands out in front of me blocking my view of her face.

Fate: "So she speaks." I say returning to my spot and normal attitude.

She lowers her hands revealing that I turned her face into a blushing mess. She was frowning and still looked a little angry despite the embarrassment she was feeling.

Irene: "Yes I speak. What is it that you want." She says crossing her arms still frowning with a heavy blush on her face.

Fate: "Absolutely nothing." I say with a wide grin.
