Fate POV
Walking side by side with my maid in the midst of all this festive cheer was nice. The bright lights, the laughter all around, and the beautiful red moon above us made the overall atmosphere around us warm.
Normally I'd see this as a date, but considering what we're about to do...actually I still think this is a date.
Sheila: "Master, please wipe that foolish grin off of your face, you'll scare the children." She says flatly.
Fate: "Come on Sheila, lighten up a little." I say nudging her shoulder with my elbow.
Sheila: "Haah." She sighs. "Master, I know it may be hard for you to understand with your shrunken brain, but what we're about to do is going to be extremely dangerous. Please drop your frivolous nature for just a moment and focus on the problems ahead of us." She says flatly, a slight edge in her voice.
Fate: "I am focused, but I'm also enjoying the ambiance. Just trust me, we'll be fine." I reassure her. "So let's enjoy our time while we walk." I suggest right after.
She gives me an eye roll.
Sheila: "Was all of this just a plan for you to steal away your own maid? Did you perhaps already foresee my rejection of your request to go on a date and proceed to go through with all of this? Have some class master." She scolds me flatly.
I didn't really mind her harsh words, I never take any of her insults or false claims seriously. Besides, I know the look of someone who's enjoying themselves, even if their face doesn't show it.
I somehow manage to settle my cold maid into a sort of casual mood, putting myself up as a target for her words in the process. I find that it's all worth it though, the small smile creeping up on her face makes it so.
Unfortunately that growing smile is wiped off once we start getting closer to a random inconspicuous building. Hiding in plain sight, that's what they call it.
Sheila: "Master, it would be understandable for you to turn back now. It's impossible for me to think any less of you, so your cowardice won't earn you any negative points with me." She says flatly, her eyes glued to the three story building.
Fate: "I appreciate your concern, but that won't be happening. I have a promise to keep and people to protect." I say seriously.
Sheila glances at me and looks at me with a deadpan look.
Sheila: "Did those girls fall for you because of those lame cheesy lines?" She asks flatly.
I can't help but laugh a little and all seriousness disappears.
Fate: "Aren't you the more carefree one out of the two of us?" I smile.
Sheila: "I was simply saying what I thought, and right now I think you're stalling because you are afraid. It's okay for you to run away with your tail between your legs right now master, it is undoubtedly the correct choice." She states, trying to convince me to walk away.
Fate: "There's no talking me out of this one, so just stay by my side and let me do the talking." I say walking up to the door.
I notice my maid tense up and release a sigh.
Sheila: "Letting you take the lead is by far the worst idea I've ever heard." She says walking up beside me. "Please do not get yourself killed my master." She adds.
Fate: "Neither one of us are dying tonight. You said it yourself, we aren't dying on such a beautiful night." I point out.
Sheila: "I said I wasn't going to die tonight, that is why I'm more worried about you and this foolish plan of yours." She huffs.
