39th Chapter

Four years have passed. This period in Palace was relatively happy period, without any bigger incidents happening. It was also a period of happiness, because of number of children dynasty has got.

Soon after their marriage, Gevherhan Sultana became pregnant and she gave birth to healthy twins. She gave birth to two baby boys, which Sultan named Bayezid and Kasim, after his brothers. A little bit later, Gevherhan also got preganant, and this time she gave birth to twins, again. This time she gave birth to two daughters, which were named Sirin Hatice and Turhan.

Gevherhan and Silahtar enjoyed their marriage and their big family which consisted of them, their four children and Gevherhan's son Selim from previous marriage. Sultan gave them palace on the Bosphorus where they lived happily.

Even though marriage of Atike Sultana and Mahmud-paşa seemed to be unhappy, Atike Sultana quickly got pregnant. Unfornatley, Atike Sultana suffered miscarriage which hurted her a lot. She didn't want to spend a lot of time in Palace and she didn't want to communicate a lot with his brother Sultan and his family. Everyone thinks that is the actual reason why it has been so quiet in Harem and without incidents.

Two years after, Atike got pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter which she named Kosem after her beloved mother. And this year she gave birth to a baby boy named Ibrahim, named after her favourite brother who was killed.

Even though everyone was thinking the marriage would be unhappy, Mahmud and Atike actually got along really well. They lived in palace in Galata which Sultan gifted them with, and made Mahmud his Grand Vizier.

Two years ago, Mihrişah Sultana and Sultan Murad had one more daughter born, they named her Safiye after Murad's greatgrandmother.

Murad kept his promise to Mihrişah and he didn't allow any woman to come even near his chambers, he stayed faithful to his legal wife.

Sultan Murad sent his sons Selim, Suleyman and Mehmed to Sanjaks as he promised, but he didn't send their mother Mihrişah together with them.

Murad sent Selim in main province Manisa. It was known that Prince which is in Manisa is actual heir to the throne.

Murad sent Suleyman to gouverne Amasya, which was lot more distant to Istanbul than Manisa.

Murad sent Mehmed to Konya, which together with Amasya was more distant than Manisa, but none of the princes wouldn't complain to his father, as they knew he loves them all equally.

It was spring, my favourite season of the year. All the flowers started to grow and our Palace was full of the scent of those flowers, especially of my favourite ones, jasmines.

After I haven't seen my sons for three years since they went to Sanjak, Murad called them all to come to Istanbul so we could have reunion all together.

I couldn’t wait for the day I would finally see my sons Selim, Suleyman and Mehmed after those long three years. My boys for sure grow up a lot and they were not so young anymore.

My daughters Ismihan Kaya, Mahinever, Mahpeyker, Mihrimah and Safiye, together with my youngest son Ahmed, couldn't wait for the day they will finally see their brothers.

Murad organised a dinner for the whole family in Summer Gardens under the tent, where he loved to spend their time.

He called his sisters Gevherhan and Atike together with their husbands and children to come there.

I knew Murad had important decision when he wanted us all to reunion once again.

I came inside the Summer Gardens together with my daughters and Ahmed where Sultan and his sisters with theirs family already awaited for us.
