It was 2014, a new year, new style, and new Hyesun. I celebrated the new year with my family, especially my sworn sister, Jiwoo. I also received tickets for a Vietnamese dance party in Atlantic City, as well as tickets for the flight to Atlantic City, again. The dance party was also held on February 1st, 2014, and I would also go with Seo Yeji and Eugene. Bally's Grand Ballroom, here we come.
The Vietnamese new year dance party included live performances of Trina Bảo Trân, Hương Lan, Mạnh Quỳnh, Phương Trang, Nguyễn Thắng, Lynda Trang Đài and Tommy Ngô. The singer I liked the most was Lynda Trang Đài because she was known as "the Vietnamese Madonna" and I admired her so much. Tommy Ngô was also whom Yeji and Eugene obsessed with because his techno performances made them fall in love and wanted to dance along. We also listened to Hương Lan and Phương Trang sing Ly Rượu Mừng and I sang along with them, too. After we finished the song, I spoke on the mic, "Annyeonghaseyo, Shin Hyesun-ibnida. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, I'd like to wish you guys a happy new year with good prosperity, good fortune, and good luck. Saehae bog manh-i bad-euseyo!" And voila, all the audience, especially Yeji and Eugene, gave me a round of applause which made me happy.
After the party was over, we went to the venue for a meet-and-greet and there she was, Lynda Trang Đài. I excitedly ran to her and asked her to take a picture with her and Lynda said 'yes' all of a sudden. Snap! After that, Lynda said, "What's your name?" I answered, "My name is Shin Hyesun. I'm your biggest fan."
"Ah, that's a beautiful name. Here's your CD and autograph," Lynda said as she handed me a CD with my signature on it.
Moving forward with Hồng Ngọc's liveshow on March 2014 at Caesars, I still went with Yeji and Eugene because we were always best friends. Titled as My Life in the United States, Hồng Ngọc's liveshow received positive reviews from all big fans of Hồng Ngọc because it not only included female guest singers, but also male guest singers, especially Đan Trường. A day after the concert, we also went to the bowling alley and had lots of fun. Besides bowling, we also sang to popular American songs, especially Roar by Katy Perry. Another concert in 2014 was the Memorial Day Weekend concert, and after that was the Independence Day concert. The Independence Day concert was also where I took a picture with Quách Tuấn Du while Eugene took a picture with Nhật Tinh Anh.
A month later, after I went home from a Jamaican trip, I video chatted with Yeji and Eugene, again, to ask them if they would go to the Vietnamese summer concert with me, and they said yes. That Vietnamese summer concert in 2014 was the Miss Globe VN-US International 2014, held on August 31st, 2014, at Caesars Circus Maximus. This was also where we watched live performances of Trấn Thành and Kasim Hoàng Vũ, as well as the performances of delegates in this pageant. While we were watching the swimsuit competition, I sang along to the lyrics of Till the World Ends by Britney Spears and I loved it. We enjoyed the whole entire concert until the end, and that was the best summer I've ever had in my life.
