Five Months Before The Fall Of Insomnia
"Goodnight, Atalie. Don't stay up too late reading." He said as he kissed my cheek, leaving me in bed reading.

"I'll try, Nyx." I smirked and watched him leave. I sighed as I focused on my book again, but looked up as someone knocked on my door.

"Come in!" I called and smiled as I saw Noctis come in with his Crownsguard behind him.

"Man, why is your bed bigger?!" Prompto asked as I bookmarked my book, shutting it and setting it down as Prompto fell on the bed.

"Boys, leave her to rest-"

"It's alright, Ignis. I'm not tired anyhow." I said and looked at my brother as he fell on the bed and curled up in my side.

"Dad?" I asked and he nodded as I set my hand on his side.

"I know, Noct, trust me!" I laughed and he groaned.

"Why is he such an ass sometimes-"

"Noctis!" Ignis scolded, except they knew I didn't care and my guards outside couldn't hear, so it was more habit to scold my brother than anything.

"He's alright, Iggy. So, how's the 'friendship' between you and Ulric?" Gladiolus smirked as he sat in my chair, making me glare.

"We are simply best friends, mister! Now, I would like to try and sleep at a decent time, even if I'm not tired." I said and the older two left as Prompto and Noctis chose to stay in my bed, a common occurrence really. As I laid down, I tried to sleep, but I knew I wasn't getting much sleep tonight.

Blood, death, screams of agony and fear, daemons, the Crystal gone, your father dead and brother lost beyond the wall, Nyx dead-

I screamed as I shot up in bed, sweat falling from my head as guards slammed the doors open and my brother and Prompto tried to get me to talk.

"Atalie-"

"I-I need to see Nyx!" I ordered and jumped out of bed, falling to the ground.

"You can barely stand-"

"I HAVE TO SEE HIM!" I screamed and my guards helped me up, Noctis going with me to the garage so I could have a guard drive me to his home.

"Where to, Princess?" The guard asked, but I put Nyx's address into the car and silently waited during the drive, biting my thumb the entire ride.

"Atalie, what was the vision?!" Noctis tried, though I didn't answer. When we got to Nyx's building, I jumped out and ran down the steps towards the basement door, banging on his door.

"Nyx! Nyx, please open up!" I begged, hearing the door unlock.

"Atalie- oof!" I hugged him tightly and listened to his heartbeat, his breathing, his life still inside him. As he hugged me, I knew he was confused about the princess showing up in sleep shorts and a tank top at maybe four in the morning.

"Atalie?! What happened?!" Nyx asked as I let go then I stepped back and shook my head as I looked up at him.

"I-I had a vision! It-it was so horrible, Nyx!" I cried, gripping his arms tightly.

"It's alright, just calm down! You can barely stand!" He said and forced me to his chair as Noctis came in.

"Prince Noctis, what-"

"I don't know! She was sleeping fine then she screamed when she woke up and demanded we bring her here!" He said as I held Nyx's arm.

"Nyx, I-I saw-" I stopped as I let out a sob then he hugged me, trying to soothe me.

"The fall of Insomnia?" Dad asked and I nodded.

"I-I saw death, dad. Yours, Clarus', the councils', and Nyx's." I said and heard Nyx stop breathing next to me.

"Do you know how this happens?" Dad asked, but I shook my head.

"I-I only saw Niflheim ships taking the crystal, daemons ransacking the city, Nyx-Nyx was fighting someone, but I can't tell who." I said and felt Nyx grab my hand. As he held it, I gripped his hand tightly and shook my head.

"I think someone is a traitor, father, someone inside the Citadel." I said and father nodded.

"Please, don't do anything with Niflheim! I'm begging you, dad!" I pleaded and he sighed.

"I will take this into consideration-"

"Consideration?!" Nyx growled and I looked at him.

"Your daughter just told you that your city is going to fucking fall, your people will die, and you're going to consider listening to her?! Hell, find the damn traitor and put a stop-"

"You speak out of turn, Nyx Ulric!" Dad growled, but I shook my head.

"Dad, please, prevent this future!" I begged and he looked at me.

"I am begging you, dad, do all you can to prevent this!" I begged and he nodded.

"King Regis, there is an envoy from Niflheim here." A man announced, but I looked at my dad.

"Come up here, Atalie and Nyx." We went up to his throne, but Nyx discreetly wrapped his arm around the back of my waist to calm me before I visibly shook.

"Chancellor Izunia." Father named the man as he came in, tipping his hat.

"Hello, ladies and gentlemen!" He grinned and looked at my father.

"What do you want?" Father asked and the chancellor simply laughed.

"Niflheim is offering a truce, King Regis!" He said and dad looked up at me, but I was doing all I could to tell him not to take it with my eyes.

"Why would they do that?" Dad asked as he looked back at the chancellor, who looked confused.

"To-to end the fighting and bloodshed." Dad had obviously knocked him off his script, this man didn't seem like the type to stutter.

"And what is your true goal of coming to my kingdom?" My father smirked, making the Chancellor step back.

"I- pardon?"

"I have it on good authority that you have a traitor in my own kingdom, and you are truly after my crystal. Guards, arrest the chancellor!" I watched as guards grabbed the man and dad stood, glaring down at the man.

"I will find the traitor, whether you expose them or I root them out myself. Take him to the maximum security cells." He ordered and the angry chancellor was taken out.

"I've considered it, Atalie, and I will prevent the future you saw." Dad said and looked at Nyx's fingers that he could see on my side, turning and leaving as Nyx's arm dropped.

"I-I need air." I whispered and Nyx nodded, walking me out to the gardens.
