Nine Years Later: Rebuilt Galahd
"Mommy!" I turned and smiled as I kneeled, lifting my daughter and holding her as her twin brother ran over.

"Mommy, daddy said it was your turn to tell us a story before bed!" My son said and I looked at Nyx as he came over, grinning as our son begged to be lifted.

"Is it?" I asked and Nyx smirked.

"I told one last night, your turn." He said then I sighed.

"Let me get the laundry inside and I'll be in there." I said and set my daughter down, watching as Nyx took her inside. I sighed then turned, grabbing the laundry from the clothes line and grabbing the basket, taking it inside to the table. I huffed and set the basket down, reaching up and letting my hair down before going to the twins' bedroom.

"Momma!" I smiled at my children as Nyx tucked in Regis and his sister, Luna, snuggled further into her side of the blankets.

"What story are you going to read tonight, momma?" Regis asked, but I smiled.

"I'm going to tell you a story, not read you one." I said as I laid between them, my children curling into my sides.

"I like your stories, momma!" Luna said and I smiled at my husband.

"Once upon a time, there was a princess who was very powerful. Her father was angry with her, as he blamed her for the queen's death, so he kept the princess locked away. Well, one day, a man came into the princess' room to try and take her life!" I started, my children already captivated, but Nyx gave me a loving smile as he recognized the story.

"You told them about us." Nyx said as he laid in bed next to me and I smiled as I hugged his neck.

"I told them about a locked away princess and her brave knight that saved her." I said and he grinned, leaning down and softly kissing me.

"I love you, Atalie."

"I love you too, Nyx." I said then he smiled and kissed my head, hugging me close and shutting the lights off.

"Nyx?" I whispered in the darkness and heard him softly hum, his response to tell me he was listening.

"I'm pregnant."
