Fourteen

As I walked in, I had to stop before I actually cried. All of my pictures that I had in a stack were now put up in photo frames, my rug that was under my chair was in the living space, I had all new furniture, a whole kitchen and table, a separate area for my bed, there was an actual door on the bathroom now, and I had a full office area.

"Atalie, this is-" I stopped and turned to her, shaking my head as my friends stared with me.

"Do-do you like it?" Atalie asked and I went to her, hugging her tightly and making her laugh.

"Crowe was right, I can see how I love you!" I laughed and let her go then she smiled.

"Oh, and there's something else. Come here." I followed her to the bed space and grinned as I saw a Li'l Malbuddy stuffed animal next to the big, flat screen TV.

"Atalie!" I breathed and looked at the princess, who looked nervous.

"Do you like it?" She asked and I nodded, stepping towards her and hugging her.

"I love it!" I whispered and relaxed into her as she hugged me back.

"DUDE, YOUR FRIDGE IS STOCKED WITH BEER!" Libertus yelled and I laughed as I went to my kitchen to explore everything.

"And if we just put the captain's office here-"

"Excuse me?" I looked up at my door then smiled as Pelna came in.

"What can I do for you?" I smiled and he eyed the accountant in front of me.

"You're needed at the new Kingsglaive site, Princess." He said and I nodded, looking at the accountant.

"Tell my brother that I am paying for the bulk of the repairs, but his help would be appreciated." I said and stood, leaving with Pelna.

"What's wrong?" I asked and Pelna shook his head.

"The crew is refusing to work because it's for 'them damn rats and their idiotic ideals'. That's the nicest version of what they said." He said and I nodded, going to the car and getting in with him. When we got to the site, I saw the Glaives trying to nicely tell the crew to work, even Nyx, but the construction crew wasn't doing jack shit. I got out of the car then saw a crew member about to hit Crowe with a board, which would either knock her out or kill her, and grabbed my heel to chuck at him.

"OW!" The guy screamed, dropping the board as everyone turned to me and Libs tossed me my shoe.

"You touch that woman and I will do so much worse, you won't ever have to worry about sex again!" I snarled then went towards him, grabbing his shirt and throwing him towards the rest of his crew.

"I was sure I'd be able to get shit done today, like finances on the new school programs or hell, the money put aside for this building! Instead, I have to drive an hour out of my way to come and deal with your petty ass bigotry towards the very people who saved your asses against Niflheim!" I snarled and the foreman went to speak, but I put my hand up.

"All I want to hear from you is an apology to the Glaive and these kind people, an apology to me for wasting my damn time, and you telling me how long it'll take before this building is complete!" I growled and he shut his mouth.

"If you can't do that, I will find a crew who will happily build this building for what I'm paying! Actually, I know a very nice crew run by a man just down the road. Your choice, foreman. Your crew, or the crew of 'rats' that you hate." I smirked and he licked his lips.

"Captain Ulric, I-I'm sorry for wasting your time, and I apologize, Princess Atalie, for making you come down here. We will finish the building as soon as we can." He said and turned, going to build as I turned to Nyx.

"Nyx, seriously-"

"We were trying not to start a fight, Atalie. But, thank you." I nodded and went to Crowe, making sure she was okay.

"I didn't even notice the guy." She laughed as we went to Yamachang's for lunch, since I was here.

"Well, I did-"

"You threw your damn heel at him!" Pelna laughed and I grinned as I drank the water, since I was still working technically.

"How's the new apartments?" I asked and they immediately gushed at once, talking at the same time.

"Slow down!" I laughed and Crowe went first.

"I have a huge tub finally!" She laughed and I grinned.

"I'm glad. I designed each apartment to your complaints-"

"Wait, you were listening to us this entire time?!" Libertus asked and I smirked.

"I hear everything you say, Libs, but I may not always respond." I smirked and looked up as some kids tugged on my dress.

"Hi!" I smiled then one of them gave me a handful of flowers, making them run off as they laughed.

"Wow, even the kids are stalking you!" Crowe laughed, making me roll my eyes as I set the flowers down so I could enjoy my lunch.

"Hey, so I got a question." I looked at Yama as he set the food down, but he pointed between Nyx and I.

"Why aren't you two dating already?" He asked and I felt my face turn bright red as my eyes widened some, but Nyx choked on his beer, coughing to try and breathe.

"Yamachang!" Crowe yelled at the man, but I cleared my throat as I tried to gather my voice.

"I-I should probably go." I said and stood, grabbing my things and nearly forgetting the flowers as I rushed off.

Nyx's POV
"Dude, breathe!" Pelna laughed as I cleared my throat, glaring up at Yamachang.

"What did I say? Haven't you two already kissed? And you confessed before, Libertus told me. Plus the king approved based on what Crowe said." He said, though I was busy glaring at my best friends.

"What?" Libertus asked as they ate, except I was about to tear them a new one.
