"And you two still haven't talked about it?" Vikki asked as we drank at Yama's, the guys busy with the new recruits tonight.

"Nope." I said, popping the 'p' and drinking my beer.

"Atalie, you died at your wedding!" Crowe tried, making me eye her, but she sighed.

"You're Nyx's other half, his true love, soulmate, whatever you want to call it! You saved him from a horrible death, took a chance on the 'Immigrant Rat', and you rebuilt his entire home! Plus, you freed our real homes in Galahd with your Niflheim raid, gave us all better lives, and you love him! You're everything to him! Yet he watched you die, watched you lose your 'gift' because you felt the need to sacrifice-"

"I didn't 'feel the need', Crowe! I saw what would have happened if I hadn't done what I did! It'd be an Insomnia ending event, just like the future I changed!" I snarled as Yama set our food down.

"If I may?"

"What?!" The three women snapped at him, but he sighed.

"First, calm yourselves! I'm a friend! Second, Atalie, you're the one people praise here in the Immigrant District! You're the one who reshaped our entire way of life, freed our homes beyond the wall, and now your brother is the king who is giving us a chance. Nyx, before you, was broody, angry, and lost. Nyx with you is happy, he laughs more, and he's found who he really is. You reshaped us, but you brought out his better side as well. I can see he's also done a lot of good for you." He said and took his dishes to his little shack, coming back and sitting at the table.

"I remember when he first brought you here, Atalie. You were pale, as if you hadn't seen the sun in years or at all in your life, your eyes were dull, they lacked the spark of life. When I look at you now? I see how tan your skin is after days and days in the sun, you've got muscle on you from dancing with all the people who love you, you're eyes are so bright and happy, and you're smiling all the time." He said and laid his elbows on the table, resting his chin in his palm.

"You two are two halves of the same whole, something most people never find in their lives. You two found your other half because what? An assassin tried to kill you and your father forced you to choose a guard? Would you have come here, to the Underground of Insomnia otherwise?" He asked and I looked down, trying to think if I would have ever come here, the old me. Would the old Princess Atalie of Insomnia ever find herself in the Immigrant District?

"What about going to the Kingsglaive building? Would you have gone there? Possibly met him there?" Yamachang asked, my brain joining his train of thought, my head shaking itself 'no' before I even realized what I was doing.

"My point proven. Look, there's Pelna and Libertus." I looked up and saw the duo, but no Nyx.

"Where's Nyx?" I asked and Libs glared.

"Sleeping in his office now!" He spit and I felt my heart drop.

"You have a key to every door in the building!" Yamachang sang as he stood, going to get drinks for the guys. As he worked, my friends around me laughed and talked, but I was thinking long and hard about Nyx.

"I have to go." I said suddenly and stood, grabbing my coat and bag as I left.

Crowe's POV
I watched her go then smiled as I saw her running in the direction of the Kingsglaive building.

"She was really making him sleep on the chairs in their apartment?" Vikki asked as Pelna wrapped his arm around her and I nodded.

"She was pissed, saying he had no right to act that way when he's the 'Hero of the Glaive'. In all honesty, both of them are fucking stupid." I said and she softly laughed.

"Well, someone set them right finally." Pelna said and I smiled at Yama.

"Thanks." I said as he cooked, watching him smirk.

"Who's hungry?!"

I unlocked the door to his office then slowly stepped inside, seeing him bent over his desk as he read a report with only the desk lamp on to light the otherwise dark office.

"If you have more paperwork, Libertus, I'll-" He stopped as he looked up finally and his expression changed as he saw me.

"Atalie." I shut the door then locked it, going towards him.

"I uh, I was at Yama's with Vikki and Crowe." I started and saw him lean back in his chair as I set my coat and bag down on a chair in front of his desk.

"I know, I sent Pelna and Libertus there while I finished work." He said, but I shook my head and let out a sad smile.

"You weren't going to come join us until one of them told you I'd gone home. Were you?" I called him out, proven by his embarrassed look to the ground. I sighed and went around the desk, sitting on the top and grabbing his papers, silently refiling all of them and putting them into the drawer.

"Atalie-"

"I'm sorry, Nyx." I said as I shut the drawer, looking at him.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about the vision, my death, everything. I'm sorry for kicking you out of bed and-and forcing you here-"

"I shouldn't have yelled." He said and I nodded, running my hand through his hair.

"Our first big fight as a couple." I said and he smiled as he held my thighs.

"Are we even a couple still?" He whispered, almost pleadingly, then I smiled as I leaned down and kissed him.

"As far as I'm concerned, we got married the day I died." I whispered and felt him grin as he yanked me into his lap, ignoring the groaning of the chair.

"I love your platinum hair, but you with dark hair just looks so much better. More natural." He whispered as he played with my dark hair that reached my waist.

"Oh?" I teased as he leaned forward, softly kissing me.

"Mhm." He hummed, hugging me tightly as he stood and laid me on the desk, pulling my shirt off.
