"Congratulations, Princess!" The woman said, but I was forcing a smile as I stood by Nyx's side. Ever since the second wedding vision, something had been plaguing my mind. Why did I look so concerned when I turned?
"Atalie?" I blinked and looked at Noctis then smiled as I licked my painted lips.
"I'm alright, Noctis, really." I said and he nodded.
"You sure? I was just talking to you and you were looking at me blankly-"
"I-I have a weird question." I cut him off and noticed our friends eyeing me.
"Okay?" Noctis laughed, but I tried to find the right words for something I didn't know how to ask.
"Did you... I mean, are there any..." I tried, shaking my head.
"Atalie, what's going on?" Libertus asked and I glanced at him, staring down the king.
"Do you know of any threats near Insomnia?" I asked and he gave a nervous laugh.
"Atalie, your wedding is tomorrow, this really isn't-"
"Please." I whispered and he sighed.
"No, there's been no threats or-or dangers since Niflheim was taken out. I'd tell you if there were, why? What's going on with you lately?" He asked, but I shook my head.
"Doesn't make sense." I whispered and pulled away from Nyx, going to gather my thoughts as I held the railing. Suddenly, I saw pink and blue petals falling and looked up to see the wedding, I saw my dress, I saw my concerned face as I turned to look at something behind me. As the vision turned, I stared as I saw Niflheim daemons at the Wall.
"No!"
Nyx's POV
"No!" I turned to Atalie then saw her leaning too far off the rail."Atalie!" I ran over with a crowd then caught her wrist as she gave me a blank look, still lost in her too vivid vision.
"Get her up!" I heard as Gladiolus gripped Atalie's other arm, helping to pull the woman up over the railing of the Caelum Via. When she was finally back on safe ground, I saw she was still staring blankly and wondered what the fuck she was seeing to cause this.
Atalie's POV
I watched as the city panicked, watched as the Kingsglaives got ready to fight, despite being dressed for a wedding."Only you can defeat them, Princess. Sacrifice your life to save that of the city." Bahamut's voice spoke in my ear and the vision went away, but I blinked as I was sitting in Nyx's office now, my friends and brother around me.
"Atalie!" Noctis sat next to me then I looked at him, looking up at Nyx.
"What the hell, Atalie?!" Nyx yelled and I licked my lips, looking at my lap. I-I can't tell him, or he'll call it off.
"I-I'm sorry-"
"What did you see?" Ignis asked and I looked at him.
"Atalie, you jumped off the roof of the Caelum Via." Noctis said and I shook my head.
"I-I can't tell you!" I whispered and hugged myself.
"Can't tell us?! Atalie, you jumped off the god damn roof-"
"If I tell you, you'll try to change it! This is a future that can't be changed!" I argued and my fiancé stopped and swallowed hard, staring me down.
"You thought none of your visions could be changed-"
"If you change this vision, everyone will die!" I growled and he looked confused.
"Atalie, what did you see?" Noctis asked, but I shook my head.
"Noctis-"
"Please tell me." He whispered and I sighed, leaning closer and whispering it to him.
"He said that?" He asked and I nodded, feeling his arms wrap around me.
"I'm sorry." He whispered and looked at the others.
"This vision isn't something to be changed, leave it for now." He ordered then Nyx stormed out, taking the others with him.
"I-I'm going to die tomorrow!" I sobbed and Noctis shushed me as he rubbed my back.
"You're going to live, the Astrals are tricksters-"
"Bahamut showed me my death, Noctis! I-I defeat the daemons then I'm dead afterwards! I use the gift from the Astrals to cast holy light that kills me!" I cried and looked at my brother.
"It's alright, you won't die. For now, let's get you into bed and get you ready for your wedding tomorrow." He said and I nodded, wiping my face as he grabbed my hand and took me to his home here in the district. As we got there, he handed me a pair of my pajamas that I kept here and helped me into his guest bed.
"Sleep, Atalie, and don't think about it." I nodded then closed my eyes, quickly falling asleep.
"Princess Atalie." I looked around then saw the Astrals, even Ifrit, standing around me.
"Your sacrifice-"
"Can I defeat them without dying, Bahamut?! Please, I-I'm not ready to leave Nyx or my brother-"
"There is no other choice!" Ifrit snarled and I looked at him then shook my head, crying as I hugged myself.
"Child of the Gods." I looked at Shiva as she came closer then she softly cupped my cheek, smiling at me.
"You were born for this, granted our power of sight for this moment-"
"Then give it to Noctis! He-he's the King of Light! He rules Insomnia-"
"Do you know what you did when you changed the future?" I looked at Titan then shook my head.
"You saved the world, changed the unchangeable, and now the world will right itself. Either you sacrifice yourself, or you watch the people you love die because you want to remain alive to love those you have not had time with." Ramuh said and I shook my head.
"Please, find another to save the world! My wedding is tomorrow-"
"As planned." I glared at Titan then understood his words.
"You have been changing the world since I changed the future."
"You were given our gift not to change the future, but to see what is to come. You were never supposed to find love, find friends, find siblings-"
"I was supposed to live a lonely life so you could sleep better at night?! What kind of gift is that?! If that is what this gift is, then I don't want it!" I yelled and forced this Astrals meeting to end by waking myself.
