The boys all turned to the small voice, seeing Maya.
However something had changed about her.
She didn't look much different as it been only a week since they didn't see each other, but they noticed she looked slightly thinner.
Her raven hair was in pigtails, her outfit composed of a long beige cardigan with her black sports bra peeking from how large it was and black nike pro shorts, knee protectors and black nike sneakers.
She paid special attention as they were supposed to film the dance practice of their title track 'Fake Love' that day. She had very light makeup, only BB cream and concealer, some mascara and her eyebrows done with vaseline.
"Don't I always look good ?" She answered, raising a brow.
The members smiled, seeing that she seemed to be her normal, salty self.
"Just take my compliment and go !" Hoseok answered, nudging her shoulder.
She laughed, grabbing a chewing-gum in her back before starting to stretch next to Seokjin.
The maknaes silently stared at her, admiring her as she laughed with the eldest.
However, something disturbed Namjoon. He discreetly taped Yoongi's shoulder.
"You noticed ?" He asked, eyeing Maya quickly.
"Yeah.." The older sighed.
"Should we ask her ?"
Yoongi looked at her, sighing again before turning to Namjoon, lightly stretching his neck.
"I don't know, we should walk on eggshells with her now.." He answered, his tone calm as usual.
"I'm concerned about her health Hyung, smoking isn't a good thing."
The leader was concerned about Maya, especially her mental health.
She would always say she'll never smoke as her father used to struggle with that, however, she cracked under the pressure.
"You know she'll listen to you, please talk to her about it." He said in a pleading tone. "There are healthy ways to cope."
"I'll try.. But I can't promise anything." Yoongi answered.
On the other side of the room, Jungkook stared at Maya with regret.
The maknaes genuinely didn't understand why she broke up with them, or at least they didn't want to.
The reality of their job just punched them in the face, and it was harsh.
They didn't know how to approach her. They surely had dated some girls before, but there was never a real attachment like they had with Maya.
They knew all of her sides and grew up with her, they saw her worst and her best, they cried on her shoulder and laughed together.
It wasn't the same at all.
"Should we try to.. Talk to her ?" The maknae asked, chewing on his lower lip.
"Let's just see if she comes to us or not.. I hate this." Jimin replied.
Taehyung stayed silent, staring at her.
There wasn't much to say, he didn't know what he felt.
Taehyung always had a hard time to sort out his feelings, especially if they were negative. He didn't know if he should feel sad, angry or frustrated, he just knew he wasn't doing good.
"Taehyung-ah.." Jimin called him, slightly nudging his side.
"Yeah ?"
"Don't get too worked up over that, it's gonna be okay at the end." He reassured him.
Taehyung only sighed.
"Do you even belive yourself when you say that ?"
He then walked away to go drink water, making the shorter male sigh.
Jimin didn't believe himself indeed, but he knew they went through worse and that was enough to keep him hoping things would be okay at the end.
"Alright let's do it once and then we'll proceed to film it." The choreographer anounced.
The members nodded, taking their positions after drinking some water.
Although the members expected Maya to be slightly lacking, she wasn't at all. The girl was really focused, even in the part that were touchy and involving some of the maknaes, making them wonder if she was really unbothered or simply professional.
She calmly drank water when they were done, slightly panting.
"Why does it seem to get harder every time ?" She muttered to herself, thinking about the choreography.
"I know right ?"
She turned around, seeing Jungkook standing next to her, drinking water as well.
She slightly stiffened but simply gave him a small smile as the younger looked away, getting shy.
The two other maknaes glared at him, noticing he didn't listen to them and initiated contact, but he had to test the waters.
"You did great, Guk-ah." She complimented. "You don't have to worry about that."
"Coming from our main dancer I feel honored." He answered, giving her a quick glance.
She nodded quickly before walking away and wrapping her arms around Namjoon's big figure, surprising the male.
Ever since their incident, she had been avoiding physical contact with him, but he guessed therapy really helped the two of them to bond again.
Jungkook was clearly disappointed. He hoped they could at least be like they were before all of this mess, but they went too far to go back now.
It felt like they were back to when they just met, because that's exactly what she did back then : talk with the others for thirty seconds and then go back to Namjoon.
"We told you to leave her alone, see, now you're disappointed." Jimin told Jungkook through gritted teeth.
The maknae lightly scoffed, turning to the short male.
"Unlike you two, I tried before giving up."
"We're not giving up but giving her space that she clearly needs." Taehyung answered.
The younger scoffed again, looking at him.
"Think like that and that's how she'll completely forget about you."
