Maya let out a breath, bowing her head and everyone on the set as the shooting was finished for the day.. But not her schedule.
It was ten at night, but now she had to run to SM to meet Jaehyun.
"Maya-ssi, do you want me to drop you off at your dorm ?" Seojoon asked, turning to his co-star.
She politely declined, shaking her head.
"Actually I'm not going home yet, but thank you for proposing." She answered with a small smile.
"I can drop you off it's not a problem." He said with a small smile as well. "After all, you're Taehyung's fellow member, I have to treat you nicely."
Maya chuckled, finally accepting to not sound rude.
He -rather his driver- drove all the way to SM to drop her off, Seojoon and Maya discussing about everything and nothing, the senior expressing some worries about how packed Maya's scheduled looked.
She arrived at SM not long after, guided by a staff even though didn't really need to as she knew the place well.
In the corridors of the building, her eyes saw him.
Chanyeol also saw Maya, his eyebrows lightly furrowing. Since everyone was aware of their friendship, he just played it casual, stopping right in front of her so she couldn't escape.
"Maya-yah, what are you doing here ?" He asked, his eyes revealing he was smiling under his mask.
Maya bowed her head politely at him.
"I'm sorry Oppa I'm here for business, talk to you later." She said before walking away with the staff.
Of course she won't, but she had to cover it.
The staff pushed the door of the studio, revealing Jaehyun and d.ear both waiting for her.
She bowed at both of them, putting her bag on one of the chairs in the back of the room.
"I'm really sorry, I was kind of stuck on set." She immediatly apologized for her tardiness that the two males understood.
The song was written, produced and composed by d.ear, who immediatly saw Jaehyun on it, giving him the opportunity to pick who he thought would be the best fit to collaborate.
Maya was explained that her vocals would be exploited, which made her slightly nervous, but she still nodded.
"May's vocals are very soft and strong at the same time, so I think this'll work out well.. I can give you some time to listen to the demo version now and we'll talk about some eventual changes you'd like to make, or ideas that'd make it better."
They both nodded, awkwardly sitting side to side and listen to the demo version, sharing a pair of earphones.
The song felt like the people singing were secretly in love but too shy to confess. As if they had like each other for the longest time, but were too scared of rejection to just go for it and ended up getting distant, even though some feelings were still present.
The idea made Maya slightly nervous, knowing her boyfriends won't really like it.
"Are you okay Sunbae ? You look far."
She snapped back to reality, gulping as she looked at the lyrics.
The producer looked at the two of them sitting next to each other on the couch, thinking they could easily pass as a couple from their current look.
Sharing an earphone, both of them very casual and just awkwardly shifting as their thighs kept touching while they read the lyrics.
Maya wore a beige cardigan with black fluid pants whereas Jaehyun wore a white sweater with black shorts, a black cap turned backwards on his head.
"Yeah, I was just thinking something, does this part have to go like that ?" Maya asked before going further, explaining that they should lower the pitch which the others agreed to.
"Should we give it a try now ?" The producer asked, to which the two idols nodded.
"You're Noona, you should go first." Jaehyun told Maya with a little smile.
Her eyes widened a second at the honorific.
"It's weird having someone other than Jungkook refer me as Noona." She chuckled, standing up.
"Is it okay if I call you that ?" He asked, scared that he might've been disrespectful.
Maya let out a small giggle at how panicked he was and nodded.
"I have no problem with that, Jaehyun-ah." She answered with a small smile before entering the recording cabin.
The male had trouble hiding his small smile, getting all giddy and soft at the idea of calling her 'Noona', even though he had to stay professional.
In fact, he never thought Maya was this nice and friendly, Jungkook kept describing her as introverted and shy.
He looked back and forth at the page with the lyrics and Maya singing behind the microphone, relaxing as her soft honey voice spread in the studio.
He didn't expect to see her barefaced, but that's what he saw. Her skin was glowing, her shiny hair falling on her back as her eyes were half-closed, her mind focusing on controlling her voice.
'Pretty Noona..'
Jaehyun's train of thoughts was cut when he felt a vibration in his pocket. He discreetly pulled out his phone, looking at the message he received.
