Chapter 12-Meeting with ALex!

Chapter 12

The drive was silent. I didn't know what to say and I don't think Declan did either. I sat there looking out my window thinking. How should I do this. Should I walk in with Declan or should I just tell Declan to wait 5 to 10 minutes before walking in. I mean what if Alex is telling the truth and what if he really does love me. No stop Heather remember he left you and the boys. He lied!

"So how do you want to do this?" Declan asked

"I don't know. Maybe we should just go in together. I mean we are friends right?" Even though I have been sleeping in your bed for the past few nights we are just friends?

""Yeah I guess. But you know Alex is not going to like me being there?"

"Yeah I know but I don't care. He hurt me!"

We continued to drive in more silence as we approached the diner. I started to get really nervous. I think Declan noticed. He parked the car and grabbed my hand and gave a gentle squeeze. I squeezed back to show him I appreciate the gesture. We got out and walked into the diner.

I looked around to see if Alex was here and to my surprise he was sitting at a two top table. I nudged Declan and nodded my head towards the table and Declan just laughed. We walked up to Alex and I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"Heather you came" Alex said as he got up to hug me. I backed away quickly and he noticed.

"Let me make this clear. I am only hear to get answers" I said

"OK I will give them to you here sit please" Alex smirked

"Can we move to a bigger table please"

"Why?"

"Well you see I don't trust you as you have lied and faked your own death. Well I brought Declan with me" I stated and saw Declan smirk and then he squeezed my hand again. I noticed Alex's glaze at our hands. He seemed mad.

"Sure anything for you Heather"

We sat down and the waitress came over and we ordered some drinks. I looked at Declan and then at Alex they both was staring at each other like they could kill one another. Maybe this wasn't the best of idea. I felt Declan put his arm around me and watched Alex turn red.

"OK explain Alex"

"OK...just bare with me this isn't easy to say. The day of your 18th was really hard for me. I was told by my mother to leave you and the twins. She hated you, she blamed you for everything. She thought that I love you more than her. She was jealous of you. I told her I couldn't do it, that I loved you. She said if I didn't then you would get hurt and the twins would never be born. I was scared so I went to your house and tried to break up with you remember?"

"Yes,I remember"

"But I couldn't I told you I had to take care of something and then I will be back and we would take off. Just you and me. You was crying and you came after me. I turned around and told you I had too. I was trying to put on a show because we was outside and I knew my mom had some one watching. So I told you again that we had to break up. I got into my car a drove off. I called you but you didn't answer. I was calling to tell you what I was doing. But my mom called and told me to met her head guy at the bridge. I did as she said. I got there and John and Duke was waiting for me. Duke punched me to the point I passed out. When I woke up I was tied up and my car was on fire. That's when they told me what was going on. They said if I don't follow through with this some one was right outside your door waiting to go in and kill you. So I had no choice you see." He paused as if waiting for me to say something when I didn't he continued "I love you Heather. I always have and always will. I want to meet the boys and be apart of their lives please."
