Chapter 20-Pay Backs a B*tch

Chapter 20

Declan's POV

It is now Wednesday and I was in my office thinking about this past weekends events. I had a great time with Heather and the boys at the camp grounds. I had a awesomely great time with Heather at the fair and then to top it off spent Sunday with my family. The only thing bothering me is that Heather is suppose to set up her meeting with Alex. Oh and the fact that someone is in deed following me. While deep in thought there was a knock on my door.

"Come in"

"Hey Declan is this a bad time?" Brody (Adam's brother, the one that's a cop) walked in.

"No Brody its OK what do you have for me?"

"Well the licence plate you gave me to look into came back to a Mrs. Mary Smutts. Do you know who that is?"

"No I have not a clue but I do know that it was not a female driving it was a large man"

"Declan Mary Smutts is Alex's mother. I can bring her in on this to question her why someone is driving her vehicle to follow someone around. But I still can't do anything about Alex till we get some kind of proof."

"If you were to question his mother that could get him mad and more suspicious and put Heather in more danger correct?"

"Yes it could"

"Then lets not do anything yet. I don't want anything happening to her because of me."

"OK but if something happens please call me right away. By the way has Heather talked to Alex yet?"

"Not that I know of."

"OK just let me know when you hear something"

He was walking out of my office and Heather was walking in. She smiled and noticed that he was in uniform. She then looked at me with concern. She had papers in her hand, her hair pulled into a messy bun with pieces falling out to frame her face. She had her tight pencil grey skirt on (you know that one that shows her curves and the one that makes my pants feel tight in a certain area). She also had a light blue button up shirt. To say she looked good is a understatement. She looked damn sexy!

"Hey was that Adam's brother? Declan! Hello!" She came closer to me and waved her hand in my face "Declan is everything OK?"

"Uh yeah everything is fine. Why whats up?"

"Well for starters I came in and started talking to you and you was just starring off in space not listening. So what was he doing here?"

"Well my goddess I wasn't starring off in space I was admiring you and as far as Brody being here he just had some info he wanted to drop off to me" I saw her blush and look away

"Does this have to do with Alex or the fact that some guy has been following you since our camping trip?"

"What you knew about that?"

"Well I didn't till now that you had admitted it to me. Why didn't you tell me? I am sure this is Alex's doing. He doesn't like you, you know"

"Yes I know. He made that clear when he visited me at school the day Jessie got sick. But anyways its ok we found out who the person is working for. So please don't worry your pretty little head of yours"

"OK I wont for now. Oh by the way Alex called me and said he wants to meet this Friday after school. He wanted to pick me and the boys up but I told him I would rather meet at home. So I called Taylor and asked if she could stay at my apartment with the boys."
