Chapter 29-Telling the Colts!

Chapter 29

"Is that a yes?" He questioned.

I looked at him and let go of the boys hands and ran to him. I crushed my lips to his. "Yes Declan that's a big yes!"

He pulled away and slipped the ring on my finger. I looked at it and was shocked. It wasn't a normal engagement ring. It had three stones. One was my birthstone. Another was the boys. And the last one was Declans. It was beautiful! I couldn't have been happier at that moment. Then I felt my phone buzz. I looked at it and didn't recognize the number but answered.

"Hello"

"May I speak to Heather Sommers please"

"This is her"

"Miss Sommers I am calling to inform you that your mother was found dead"

"My mother is..."

"Yes Miss Sommers we have been trying to get a hold of you for some time now. We think this was no accident." I took in a deep breath and the other person continued. "We need someone to come and take care of some things. Also we need to know if there was anyone who would want to harm your mother."

"Well, um yes there is a few but right now they are all in jail here in Texas. When do I need to get there?"

"As soon as you can also if there is anyone else you can get a hold of that would be great. We went through her phone and your number was the only one programed."

"Ok Thank you for the letting me know. I will get there as soon as I can."

I hung up the phone and stared off into the ocean. I heard Jessie, Jake, and Declan laughing and having a good time. I looked over at them and a small smile appeared. I can't believe my mother is gone. She use to be so caring till that day my brother took off. There is more to that story and now I will never know. I don't think Luke even knows the whole story. 'Shit Luke I need to call him.'

I was so happy a few moments ago and I still am. I just couldn't help but feel sad for the fact she is gone. They said they don't think it was an accident either. That means she was murdered. I tried to think of who. Who would do this. Then it came to me 'Dad'.

"Hey mommy come here!" Jessie yelled.

"I will be over there is a second sweetie" I noticed Declan look at me and then started to walk to me.

"Hey you OK?"

"Yes um its just that...that was the police in Maine. They called to tell me my mother was...is dead. They don't think its a accident either. They want me to go there and figure things out."

"You need to call Luke. I am not sure if I will be able to go. With work and all."

"I know I am going to see if Luke will come with me. But I am thinking that if the boys could stay with you and Kate. I should be back before the wedding too."

"Yeah the boys will be fine with me and lets get going back to my mums house and let everyone know the good news and the not so good news. Shall we future Mrs Colt!"

"We shall my prince!"

I grabbed Jessie's hand, while Declan grabbed Jake's. Then Declan grabbed my other hand and we walked away from the beach. I am so angry that I ruined his proposal. I looked at him with sad eyes. He looked back at me but seemed to know what I was thinking. He shook his head and then kissed the corner of my mouth. Then whispered 'I love you' to me!
