THIRD PERSON ¤ POV
Jamar had gone to jail many times before in his youth. Mostly for petty theft and drug use, both in Jamaica and the UK. A stolen car here, a bit of marijuana dealing there. The thought of sitting in a cold, dark cell didn't terrify him at all. In fact, he would gladly go right back to prison after he murdered the alpha who he had found choking his son right there in the entryway of his home. His territory was threatened. His family was harmed.
Jamar's eyesight was red, his wolf snarling and clawing, begging to be let out so that they could destroy the threat. Jamar had grabbed the alpha and thrown him through the open front door, out onto the lawn several feet away. Landon was sputtering, dazed as he tried to stumble to his feet. Jamar roared again, stalking after him, ready for the kill. He was insulted.
He'd let this kid date his baby boy, let him around his mate and daughter, invited him inside their home and fed him. For Landon to repay their family like this, was an unforgivable betrayal. Not to mention the fact that he'd almost killed Aaron. Death was the only punishment he deserved.
Jamar could hear his lifemate, Jasmine, screaming. Her distress, as she tended to their beaten pup, was feeding his rage and he bent, grabbing Landon by his shirt and hauling him up. He reared his large fist and slammed it into the enemy's face, shattering his jaw upon impact. He repeated the same move until the face blinking up at him was swollen and bloodied to a pulp.
At this point the horrified neighbours were pouring onto their driveways to stare and yell. Someone was screaming that he should stop, others demanding to know what was happening and why. Jamar ignored them all. He was focused on the kill. Landon was waving his arms mindlessly, trying to defend himself and failing. He now knew what it was like to be on the helpless receiving end of a beating. How many other omegas had felt the same way under his hands?
Jamar snarled, pissed off at himself. He should've known better and protected his son from the very beginning. He knew Landon had been showing narcissistic, abusive behaviours from the very beginning. He was possessive, controlling, always grabbing and being passive aggressive. But Jamar had chosen to trust Aaron and his choices. His son had been happy enough and always stood his ground. He'd never complained or waved a rescue flag. But as a father, Jamar should've known better than to entertain it.
It was his biggest mistake as a parent so far and he would always regret the way things turned out in the end.
Jamar hauled the teenage alpha up, holding him to his chest. Landon was large and bulky, as heavy as he looked. But Jamar was stronger, his muscles better developed, his size untouchable. He gripped his shoulders with one arm, using it to hold him up. Then he readied to snap the Alpha's neck with the other. The recognisable death grip made a lot of people panic.
"Fuck man, don't do it! He's a kid!"
Jamar didn't listen, tensing, readying to deliver the final blow. He could hear the thunder of footsteps as Tate, the alpha who lived across the road, ran forward to stop him. However, there was a second voice, a softer, broken sounding plea that finally broke through his blood thirsty haze.
"Please stop. That's my son. I-I don't know what he did but please, forgive him. Don't kill him! Don't kill my pup!"
Landon's omega father was wide eyed and bawling at the sight of his son beaten and on the verge of death. He was on his knees, his hands clasped at his mouth. It was not the gruesome scene he had expected to return to after a long day of work. Not to mention the shock of recognising Jamar, their next door neighbour and the father of Landon's boyfriend, attacking his pup.
Jamar stared at the stricken face of the omega on his knees, at his small, trembling body. Another parent. Another father in pain because of their pup. He cursed under his breath, hating the sympathy that made him pause. Landon deserved to die, but if he did, he would leave his parents behind and in grief. Was it fair? His morals told him it wasn't.
