As everyone stood around a bonfire and chatted amongst themselves about the murder of Marlo. Mikasa hugged you tightly, comforting you as you grieved for your dear comrade. She gently stroked her hand through your hair.

Softly pressing her mouth to your scalp, not too close that it wouldn't seem anything more than platonic. For now.

You buried your face into her chest, her smell easing some of your stress. Even if she did partly smell like smoke, as you lifted your head Mikasa let go.

"Are you ok (Y/n)?"

You nodded. "Thank you Mikasa, you're always so kind to me."

The poker faced girl had to bite the inside of her lip to stop herself from saying it's because I love you.

Marlo had been a hindrance from day one, the fool couldn't keep his eyes on Hitch. He just had to fall for another woman. You. Her woman. Mikasa easily overpowered the male, the hardest part was the blood staining her clothes.

She'd become a blushing mess when you asked where all the red had come from. Her answer, it was her time of the month and it had gotten thrown in with her clean clothes.

She was grateful you were slightly dense. As you walked closer to the bonfire to get warmer, Eren came to your side.

Putting his arm around your shoulder, Mikasa felt a pang of pain strike her heart. Was Eren in love with you?

She smiled and tried to calm her thoughts. Eren would never get in her way of claiming you.

She joined you and took your hand, of course in your eyes her actions were always as a friend. She'd change that one day.

Silently she muttered as you talked loudly, "I'll make her mine."

Eren ruffled your hair and you yelled at him. She had an intense desire to do the same, but she didn't want your pout directed at her.

"Hey Mikasa are you ok too?"

"Oh yes I'm fine just thinking."

Her thumb slowly traced the inside of your palm. You questioned why she was doing that.
