Reiner filtered through papers from cases of Annie Leonhart. The murder which had started all this chaos, you stood behind him eyeing the folder with her name and picture. "Hey Reiner."

He spun around with a gasp, "(Y/n)!" You laughed at how he sighed after you startling him. "I've been wondering why you bothered to protect me in the first place?"

Reiner smiled, "well besides the fact that it's duty I still care for you. I uh may or may not have been keeping a watchful eye on you after high school."

"Seriously?" You asked slightly unimpressed.

The muscular male nodded, "besides that I don't want Erwin Smith and Levi Ackerman killing another witness."

Your gut twisted horribly at his words, "you mean to say that others have witnessed their killings?"

His features hardened, "yes such as Sasha Braus and more."

"Who else?"

"You really want to know?"

A brief nod was all you could give him, he gestured for you to take a seat and you did. "Historia Reiss, Marco Bodt, Mina Carolina, Bertohldt Hoover.."

The more names he read out the paler your face became. "Ymir whose last name we never managed to gather and Armin Arlert...a dear friend of Eren's."

This surprised you, "they are very sloppy at killing hence why there are so many people who see it. But in the end they manage to kill those who stumble upon them gutting someone."

"Every time?"

He took a minute to answer, "yes. Eveytime. You are a lucky case, I feel the reason you survived was because your identity was unknown for a while. But they know now and maybe Eren played a part in it but I can't risk him protecting you when he's proven to do a lousy job so far."

Reiner was only slightly right but you felt as though you had ruined his chance by going against him. "So..Eren lost one of his friends to Erwin."

"Unfortunately but he wasn't under us he was in custody of the police along with Sasha Braus."

That would explain why Eren seemed so distrustful towards Jean. He once tried to punch Jean for putting you in danger, you weren't sure why but your chest ached at the thought.

Almost like you were missin-

"(Y/n)." Reiner's voice cut you from your thoughts. "Oh yes?"

He appeared nervous, pink dusting across his cheeks. "About our relationship...is there a chance you would get back with me?"

You'd been preparing for this conversation but in reality you were left flustered. "I...um...I'm not sure."

Your answer clearly disappointed him but he still smiled, putting a hand on your shoulder. "It's ok, if you change your mind let me know. I have to get back to looking over these."

"Of course."

You stood up and left Reiner to do his work. Nothing seemed more perfect than to have a bath, you could use a relaxing moment.

But that wouldn't be happening, once you swung open the door to you room. A short, dark haired man stood near your bed, holding a gun in his hand as he raised it at you.

"Don't bother screaming, or I'll blow your head off the moment you try."

You felt coils of fear wrap around your limbs. You didn't dare move a muscle, Levi had an expression that told you he did not kid.

How he slipped in unseen, unheard sat uncomfortably with you. Two days you'd been here, two god damn days. High security placed in and around the building yet he got in. Safe. Here was supposed to be safer.

Levi pressed the gun against your temple. He pushed the bed aside with his foot, it revealed a hole dug expertly. Dug long before you arrived here.

"Move." He ordered as you heard the threatening click of the weapon. "Erwin's patience has grown thin with his old student."

Reiner didn't understand, they had said a week. Bloody bastards. Reiner had to get ahold of Jean.

"Eren I swear to god if you don't leave me alone and go sulk somewhere else I will arrest you for no reason."

Bad boy 2.0 fiddled with Jean's computer. Making it pop up with an error a few times, "sorry I really don't have anything better to do."

"I'm sure." Jean became thankful when the phone rang but instantly paled. "Reiner slow down, they've got who?"

This peeked Eren's attention, "you're kidding...Erwin got (Y/n)..but how?!"

Eren's eyes widened and he ripped the phone from Jean, heart racing a mile and his blood boiling with anger as he asked Reiner. "Where?"
