Maggie

Last night I didn't really get much sleep, but it's a normal thing for me. Instead, just like most nights, I just laid with Sam in my arms and caressed his little head. He's going through something no child should ever have to go through and I admire him for that. He's the strongest little boy I've ever met.

The triplets were now in their playroom while I made them lunch. I set Sam's medicine aside and made them star shaped turkey sandwiches. I heard my phone ringing and went over to grab it.

"Hello?" I wiped my hands and went back to setting up the plates.

"Hey, it's Jax. Amanda gave me your number." I couldn't help but smile at him.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Well, I just wanted to say thank you for the other night. I had a lot of fun and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to hang out sometime." he said.

"Really?" I blurted out. "I mean-- no seriously? You want to see me again?"

His deep raspy laugh filled my ears making me bite my lip.

"Yeah, I wanna see you again." you could practically hear the smile through his voice.

"Well, um, I'd love to hang out sometime but I have the triplets." I said just as the three demons ran into the kitchen.

"Hi mama!"

"Mommy!"

"Food!"

I rolled my eyes at Emmy. She might be the girl but that girl can eat like a full grown man.

"Here you go loves." I set their plates down on the table and returned my focus to Jax. "I'm sorry, continue."

"Well, maybe you could bring them with you. I'd definitely love to see Mighty Mouse Jr. again."

I laughed at the nickname and looked at the kids when I felt something grab my finger. I looked down and to no surprise Sam was standing there with his sandwich in one hand and holding onto my finger with the other. He wasn't even looking at me, he just wanted to be touching me. He must have sensed I was looking at him because he turned his head up to me and smiled, completely melting my heart.

"Are you sure?" I asked Jax. "If you want it to just be us I can ask Mandy or Crystal to watch them."

"It's totally fine. Unless you want it to just be us." he said seductively making me roll my eyes.

"Oh shut up." I told him and heard his laugh. "When do you want to hang out?"

"Are you free right now?" he asked.

"Uh, yeah." I looked at the kids. "Do you want to maybe go to that diner downtown? The kids love it there."

"Sure. I'll pick you up in an hour."

"Actually, can we take my car?" I asked. "I like to call it my mom bus since it's full of the kids toys and carseats."

His laugh sounded again making my heart flutter. "Sure. I'll be there within the next hour."

"Okay, I'll see you then." I smiled.

"Bye Angel." the line disconnected and I blushed at the nickname. I saved his number in my contacts and turned to my kids.

"Do you guys wanna go to that diner with a friend of mine?" I asked them as I sat down by their little table.

"What friend mama?" Emmy asked.

"Well, his name is Jax and he really wants to meet you guys." I said.

"What about Giant?" Sam asked with his brows knit together.
