Chapter 13 (Beauty and the Beach)

(Storm Chargers)

Dustin, Kelly, Shane and Tori were all relaxing at Storm Chargers. Dustin and Shane were sitting on the counter, while Tori and Kelly leaned again st it, near the register. Tori and Dustin were explaining what they saw yesterday, as Shane and Kelly listened. "She was amazing man." Dustin said, as he remembered how Aria almost beat the man she was sparring with. "Yeah she was so graceful with the bow staff. And she never lost control." Unlike someone I know." Tori said as she nudged Dustin. Dustin blushed as he remembered the time they were picking weapons at the academy. He wanted to try the bow staff, because it was used in one of his favorite movies. He had picked it up, and attempted to twirl it around his finger, however he lost control. The bow staff flew out of his hand, and hit one of the walls, leaving a large dent. 

Shane and Tori chuckled at Dustin's misfortune, while Kelly looked confused. The conversation continued until, the girl they were talking about walked into the store, holding her surfboard. (It's on my profile) "Hey Aria!" They all yelled as they waved her towards them. "Hey guys! What's up?" She asked with a large smile on her face. "Nothing much, we were just talking about karate." Dustin said. "Really? You're all interested in karate?" Aria asked. "Yup." Shane said as he pushed his elbow into Dustin's ribs. Great job Dustin. Now she might be suspicious. We've known her for about a year,and have never mentioned karate to her. "Well if you want some lessons my uncle is actually setting up a dojo, not to far from here." Aria said, excited that her friends enjoy something she does. "Maybe we will." Said Shane. "Hey you going surfing?" Asked Kelly when she realized her youngest friend was holding her board. "Yeah, actually I came here to ask Tori if she wanted to join me." Aria said, as she turned towards her blonde friend. "Sure, my boards in the van. Shane, Dustin, Kelly. Any of you want to join us?" "I wish I could but I  can't keep leaving John to do all the work."Replied Kelly. Dustin opened his mouth to reply, when Kelly answered for him. "And Dustin won't be joining you, because he seems to have forgotten he works for me." Dustin gives Kelly an apologetic look, feeling guilty that he keeps leaving his boss to do all his work. 

"Well I have nothing going on, so sure." Answered Shane. "Cool let's go!" Aria yells as she runs out the door. A second later the door is pulled open again, and Aria's head appears. "Bye Volpe, and Dustin!" She yells, before letting the door close shut. The four friends still inside Storm Chargers chuckle, before Shane and Tori say their good byes. Once Shane and Tori disappear, Dustin turns to Kelly. "How come Aria gave you a nickname and not me one?" He asked with a pout. Kelly laughs at her friend, before answering. "Because she likes me better." "What, that's not true!" Dustin yells to his boss' back, as she turns, and walks away. Dustin following after her.

(The beach)

Once they arrived a the beach, Tori, Aria, and Shane all piled out of the van. Tori and Aria ran straight towards the water and dove in, while Shane relaxed on the beach. "Race ya!" Aria called as she saw a large wave coming towards shore. "You're on!" Yelled Tori as she raced to catch up to her friend. The girls caught the wave a the same time and rode it together. Wanting a little more excitement Aria did a flip off the board, and waited for Tori to finish. Once Tori joined Aria, they paddled back to shore, and waked onto the beach.

Looking over at Shane they saw him talking to two guys, that were watching them while they surfed. From how far away they were they could only hear bits and pieces of the conversation. One of them said, "They are so awesome." While the other guy nudged his friend, and said. "Don't forget to mention cute." Aria and Tori shared a smile as they walked over to Shane. "What was that about?" Tori asked, since the guys had already walked away. "Ah some guys, couldn't stop talking about both of you. How cute you both are and how they wanted your numbers. "Wow, stop." Aria said, shaking head. "Rewind. Super cute surfer hoties were asking about us?" Tori finished. "Dude it was so lame." Said Shane as he laughed at the thought. "And you let them leave?" Aria and Tori asked together, as they both hit Shane.
