LUZ AND EMBER SAT BESIDE each other, surrounded by a huge pile of books while being hunched over their notebooks. The glyph patterns littered their pages as they placed more little papers on them, attempting to get this new glyph right.
Suddenly, King hopped over to them, knocking over a small pile of scrolls and books, breaking their train of thought. "Luz, Ember! I need your help!" He exclaimed as the two jumped at the sudden surprise. "I think Francois is trying to start a rebellion."
They raised a brow and glanced over at the smaller couch with King's large collection of stuffed animals. Francois sat in the middle of them, inanimate as ever, but a small dagger popped out from behind him. King's grip on Ember and Luz's pants became slightly tighter.
"In a minute, King." Ember smiled, patting his skull as she and Luz returned to their glyphs.
"We're getting so close to figuring out this glyph combo." Luz furrowed her brows as she focused in.
"It's always glyphs and portals with you two these days. What about King?" The small demon pouts, gesturing to himself.
"Why don't you ask Lilith for help? She has more experience with unruly mobs than anyone!" Luz suggests, smiling as she points to Lilith.
Lilith is currently hunched over at the coffee table at the couch, face centimeters away from the page she's trying a glyph combo on. She pulls the brush back, smiling. "Watching the ink dry is the best part." She squeals, biting her lip in anticipation.
King narrows his eyes, groaning. "A fresh cup of tea for my favorite cup of tea." Hooty smiles as he stretches over, placing a blue mug next to Lilith's paper. "That's you, Lulu."
Lilith blinks out of her gaze, smoothing down her hair as she looks to Hooty with a smile. "Oh, Hootsifer. You truly are a gem." She compliments, patting his head softly. "How do you always know what to do?"
"What's going on? Is Hooty blackmailing her?" King whispers to the two, and Ember glances up from her writing.
"Oh, I think they're actually friends." Ember shrugs, grabbing the finished glyph. "Isn't that nice?" She smiles, closing her book and setting it beside her.
"Okay, these will work for sure." Luz smiles, standing up next to Ember. They hold up their glyphs, smiling. "Now you see us..." Ember and Luz lightly smack the glyphs onto themselves, disappearing. King gasped, and Lilith quickly looked up from her work. They reappear and Luz shouts, "Now you don't!" Luz and Ember look down at their hands and shrug.
