EMBER AND LUZ FOLLOW GWEN through the forest to a new location, both of them excited to help Eda and get new information to potentially get them home.
"So we're going to meet a curse expert? This is so rad!" Luz smiles, throwing her arms up happily.
Gwen chuckles. "Yes, after years of dealing with the Healing Coven, I finally found someone who promised me a cure!" Gwen says, stopping in her track. She turns her head to a large rock wall, that seems to have the outline of a door in the center. "Ah, here we are!"
Gwen approached the stone door, holding her necklace out. The symbol on it glows, and the door glows green with the same insignia before sliding open. The three walk in to see a small elf creature with boils and warts covering his eyes kneeling to a blue-skinned man with a pure white beard and six arms.
He casts a spell, waving his hand in front of the elf, and the boils go away. Ember and Luz gasp, amazed at the sight as Gwen chuckles.
"Boils! They're— They're gone!" The crewneck exclaims, turning to the man. "Thank you, Wartlob!" He runs out of the cave, crying happily.
Gwen places a hand on Luz's shoulder, smiling at the two girls. "That's Master Wartlob. He's a traveling curse expert who's perfected next-level healing magic." He gestures for Gwen to come to him and she drops her staff into Luz, rushing over.
She kneels before him. "Gwendolyn, my pupil. Your aura is shining bright." He compliments, eyes glowing a pure white when he opened them.
"It took many months but, I was able to gather the sacred items you requested!" She says, pulling a few things out of her side pouch. "The copper egg from the Snowy Ribcage, the dagger from the Swampy Toes, and the golden chalice from the desert of Palm Stings."
Wartlob strokes his beard. "You're a dedicated mother, aren't you?" His palms glow a bright green, and a book appears and as Ember and Luz watch from the sidelines, they share a surprised look. "Inside this tome is the healing ability you seek." It floats into Gwen's hands, and she gingerly takes it. "But keep it away from the eyes of non-believers. For many will be blinded by the power it holds."
"I understand." Gwen rises, bowing to the man. "I am in your debt, Master Wartlob." Gwen rushes out of the cave, Luz and Embed following after taking a short stare of amazement at the master.
After grabbing some signs and paint, Luz, Ember, and Gwen made signs for directing Eda towards apple blood. King watched from inside the house as they nailed the first sign into the ground, holding Francois to his chest tightly. The three girls ran further into the forest.
