EMBER AND LUZ APPROACHED Gus, who was curled up into a ball with his head resting on his arms. There was a pixie incident with Willow at Hexside, and Gus tried to help but got in over his head.

"Hey, Gus." Ember greeted, hands clasping together. "You okay?"

"I-I messed up bad, guys," Gus said disappointedly, lifting his head from his arms. "Willow just needed help with this pixie problem right? So I thought, 'Oh! I'll just lure them away with an illusion'. But then..."

"... That angered the pixies and they attacked Willow." Luz finished, brows raising sympathetically. "We heard."

"I moved up two grades. What's the point of being good at this if I can't do anything good with it?" Gus sighed, placing his head back down.

"It was an honest mistake," Ember said, shaking her head lightly.

Luz smiled, nodding. "Besides, Willow's tough as nails!" Gus looks up at his friends, a slow smile crawling onto his lips. "I'm sure you'll both be feeling better tomorrow."

The next day, Gus laid on the floor of his bedroom, not feeling any better. He groaned in frustration. His crystal orb squawked, the sound of an alarm blaring through his room and he turned away from the orb.

King popped onto the orb's screen, looking irritated. "I'm not reading this!" He says sternly.

"C'mon, King! Please?" Gus asked off-camera.

King groaned and tossed the paper away. "Is that a six-footed pig? Or a floating appendage? Why, no! It's Gus the illusion master." Gus leaped onscreen, wearing a cape. "Please leave a message."

A battered Willow popped onscreen and Gus quickly turned to watch the message. "Hey, Gus! Thanks for sending me all those get well soon illusions. But, uh..."

One small illusion leaped onto her cheek. "Willow! How are you feeling? Do you have a fever?"

Another leaped on her shoulder. "Willow, do you want me to sing for you?"

One dropped onto her head. "Willow, is this helping?"

"Please take them back!" Willow asked politely, and the message ended.

Gus groaned in embarrassment, hiding his face in his hands. He rolled onto his stomach, casting a spell circle and taking all the illusions back. They popped up right in front of his face. When they started to question why they were back, Gus blew them away sadly.
