Anniversary

Warning: This chapter contains graphic descriptions of bullying and violence. On the bright side, we've officially caught up to where Jungkook's story started! This story is already going to be much longer than the first and I'm excited to be able to interweave them and add more dimensions to them both now!

"Nervous?" Taehyung asked.

"Immensely," Jungkook replied.

Flash forward one year and a few months, the BTS family is gathered in Jungkook's apartment. It's August 31st, 11:55 P.M., 2020. Jeon Jungkook, maknae of BTS, is turning 18 in five minutes.

The tour had whizzed by as a success and now the boys were prepping for their next album, Dark and Wild, Jimin and Opal were preparing for their wedding, and Jin and Sephi were prepping to be parents.

Taehyung and Lena sat in front of Jungkook, the rest of the family encircled the three. Jungkook clutched his ring, vibrating as he waited. Only three minutes now.

"What if I never meet them?" Jungkook asked. "What if I don't have a soulmate? Taehyungie, I can't do this-"

"Yes you can, you coward," Taehyung shoved him. "Two minutes."

"Can we, uh," Jungkook took a deep breath. "Can we get closer? I need you all close. Please."

They all quickly scrambled to get closer to Jungkook, the youngest smiling as they all placed their hands on him or on someone that did have their hand on him.

"Mind if the baby gives me strength too?" Jungkook asked Sephi.

"Go ahead, Kookie," Sephi smiled.

Jungkook smiled and carefully placed his hand on Sephi's stomach.

"Thank you all for being here," Jungkook said. "I love you guys."

10 seconds.

"Here we go," Taehyung smiled and squeezed Jungkook's thigh.

The dimly lit room suddenly glowed, the ring around Jungkook's neck etching the name of his soulmate into the metal. The maknae had a soulmate.

As soon as the ring stopped glowing, Jungkook let out a shaky breath. He took the hand that Lena was holding and held up his ring.

"Ara-Joon," Jungkook breathed. "Her name is Ara-Joon."

Cheers echoed by throughout the room, hugs were shared, and Sephi definitely let a few tears slip.

"Jungkookie has a soulmate!" Sephi cried. "Our little baby, oh my fates, Jinnie, hold me."

Jin laughed and held onto his wife, who had just thrown herself into his arms.

"I'll go call Veda to let her know that today's live is a go then, huh?" Namjoon asked.

Jungkook nodded, still staring at his ring.

"Today will be great, Kook," Lena said before she stood up. "I g-gotta go though."

Taehyung looked up at Lena, his soulmate felt off to him and he couldn't place what was wrong.
