Flowers.
Sun.
Laughter.
Those three things were present.
Those three, beautiful, works of luxury. How they enlightened my heavy heart, and lifted my depressed soul
I was happy.
And how I had missed being this way.
I opened my heavy eyes, and they met with another pair of dazzling, sapphire ones. The human that carried the such beautiful set of eyes, was a young girl. She had wavy golden hair, that had been let loose so that it touched her shoulders, and she wore a short, pink colored dress with a white sash.
The girl's playful appearance made my heart flutter
"You look like an angel..." I suddenly blurted out.
I hadn't ment to say it out loud, but my strong will got the best of me.
She smiled and started to run. Then, she turned around and gestured for me to follow.
I quickly stood up and ran after her through the endless field of flowers.
Even though I had no idea where I was, I felt that everything was going to be okay, and that the girl and I were perfectly safe.
When I started to catch up, she only looked back at me, and giving a playful giggle, ran faster and changed direction. I started to laugh.
We continued chasing one another, until I suddenly felt the strong urge to sit down and relax in the shade of a nearby Oak tree.
Something about the tree seemed familiar, but I couldn't remember quite what, so I just called over to the girl, and she joined me beneath the shade of the mighty oak.
And we sat there, holding hands in silence.
This was a miracle.
After what seemed like hours, I was tapped on the shoulder by someone. I looked up, quickly regaining awareness, and saw that it was none other than the pretty girl. She was smiling, and pointing to something nearby.
I nodded at her, and peeking over, saw a small river. Glancing back, I smiled, a look of excitement burning in my eyes. A look that had not surfaced on my face for nearly a decade.
She instantly noticed my eagerness and giggled merrily. I blushed, half out of embarrassment, and half out of how cute she was.
This time, I led the way, as we began to chase each other again.
I felt far away from reality, as if I had entered into a new dimension, one where everyone could be set free from their burden, and let loose...the child they once were.
Infact, I was so joyful and merry, that I was blinded by the fact that my appearance had changed to one of a child. But I didn't care in the slightest, I would not've had it any other way.
Once I reached the river, I halted, waiting for the girl to arrive. But strangely enough, when I looked behind me to see where she was, I couldn't find her anywhere.
There was a bit of confusion, which quickly turned into fear.
Oh, where could she be?
I started to loose the feeling of happiness and my carefree nature. It was replaced with concern and sorrow, something wasn't right. I didn't feel right.
