Brand New Beginning

Chapter Eleven

                          “Sorry” I said looking down as we drove to Edwards house. "It's ok, but explain what happened" He said, he drove like a maniac. He smiled at that which gave me confidence. "I honustly don't know" I said and looked out the window, a house was coming up. As I got a closer look I gasped in  awe. It was a beautiful white house, it was huge too. Edward stopped the car and got out and in a minute he was at Bellas door opening it. I got out of the car and walked up to the door with him. I could smell the scent of the vampire everywhere. Flashes of my other run in with vampires went through my head. I tensed and crouched into a defensive position when we got to the door. Edward saw me and smiled, "We arn't going to hurt you" he said but I didn't listen to him. He opened the door and I saw six vampires standing around their living room.

             Suddenly the smallest vampire with a pixie cut hair jumped up and ran towards me. I hissed and backed up but she didn't care. She pulled me into a hug but I hissed at her the whole time. I saw the family tense but relaxed when all I did was hiss. She didn't let go and I stopped hissing knowing that was useless against her. My whole entire body was tense and i had the urge to just push her off me, "Ok Alice you can let go of her now"  she let go and jumped up and down. "Your looking for an outfit right? she asked but didn't let me answer "Of course you are, i saw you, i have the perfect outfit for you to wear" she squeled and startd to drag me upstairs. "Alice I also brought her here for a different reason...and you are freaking her out". I had no idea how to react so I just froze and let her ramble. "Go on Edward, hello again Nicollete" he said. I nodded and tried to back away from Alice. Another vampire came up to me but she was more older and had heart shaped face almost."Are you hungry sweety?" she asked me, I shook my head my stomach argued and growled. I looked down and tried to back away again. I turned to Edward but I saw him talking to Carlisle. She smiled and turned around, "Is it true your part human?" I heard the guy with curly ligh brown hair say. I nodded and faced him, he nodded aswell and took the hand of Alice. "Oh where are our manners, i'm Esme this is Jasper and Alice" Esme said hading me a bowl of fruit. I took it and stared at it, "This is Emmet and Rosalie" she said going on with the introductions. I nodded at them and ate a strawberry.

      Carlisle came up to me and shook my hand. "So I think you have a power" he said smiling. I set the bowl down and looked at him. "Can I get rid of it?" I asked looking at him. He frowned and gave me a puzzled look, "If the power I have is what i think it is, I don't want it" I said crossing my arms. "I'm sorry but you can't get rid of it" he said then sat on the sofa. He gestured for me to sit in the armchair, I hesitated then sat. Everyone chose a place to sit and they looked at Carlisle. "I talked with Edward and it seems you can show people their fears" he said looking at me, I heard a couple of people gasp and turn to me. I looked down trying to blend in with the chair. "Do you know this for sure?" I heard Esme ask. "No but she showed me my fear when she got upset" Edward said held Bella's hand. "That is so cool" I heard Emmet say, Rosalie hit him. "Do you remeber the first time you did that to someone" Carlisle asked. I nodded, remebering how I exploded at a drunk man when I first left my dad. I shuddered at the memory, I looked at Carlisle and gave him a look. "Why is this happening?" I asked, I gave him a stern look. "lts a special gift some vampires get" he explained. I looked down and started fidget with a loose string on the sofa. "Can you control your ability?" he asked, I shook my head and kept fidgeting. I don't know why I am so nervous, I looked up at everyone and realized they were staring at me. "What are you looking at?" I asked them sitting up straight and looking them in the eyes. "When was the last time you slept?" Emily asked me leaning forward. I leaned back, "A couple of days ago I think" I answered matter of factly. "Poor dear" She said starting to get up. I tensed but all she did was pass the fruit bowl over to me again.

      "Can I show the outfits to her already" Alice said jumping on the sofa. Carlisle looked at me, I just shrugged I need to get out of the room. Carlisle nodded and she jumped up and squealed with joy. I jumped back but she grabbed my arm and dragged me upstairs. I tried to loosen her grip on me but for a small girl she was strong. I heard Edward chuckle downstairs, I was dragged into a brightly colored room. She dashed into the closet and came back with three outfits. She layed them out on the bed, these had to be the cutest outfit ever. One outfit had a long skirt with a cute white top. Another outfit had white shorts and a flowy purple shirt. The last outfit was a cute tee with ripped jeans. They were such cute outfits, I didn't know which one too choose. "How bout this you take all three of them" she said smiling, I looked at her like she was crazy. "I can't take your clothes" I said moving away from the outfits. "I already wore them I won't wear them again, go ahead i'm giving them to you" she said folding the clothes and handing them to me. I stepped back again, "If you don't take them now I will drive over to Charlies and tell them that these are for you" she said. Wow, short, strong and evil...I like her. "I won't wear them ever" I said smiling, "So you would wear that tomorrow" she said eyeing my dirty clothes. Damn, I sighed and took the clothes from her arms. She smiled and lead me downstairs again. Everyone seemed to be in the exact same place I left them, except for Esme, I don't know where she is.

              "So you decided to take the clothes?" Edward smiled, I glared at him then sat down in the arm chair.  Emily came back with a sandwhich, she walked towards me and handed me the sandwhich. What is with her and making me food? Edward smiled and put his arm around Bella. "Nicollete, we have a proposition for you" Carlisle said leaning foward. I sat forward, "Go on" I said, I was about to put the sandwhich down but I saw Esme give me a disapointed look. I took back the sandwhich and took a bite. She smiled at me, I took another bite just to please her then set it down. Food isn't what I need right now, "Whats the proposition?" I asked Carlisle. "If you want, I think i can help you control your ability" he said. I sat up instantly, "As in control so it won't happen again?" I asked. "Yes" He stated, "Would you like us too teach you?" "Yes" I said sitting up, then I looked at Esme, "Please". Edward laughed, "Alright well since your busy tomorrow how bout we start the next day?" He asked laughing. Does everyone know about my date? "So it is a date?" Edward chuckled. I glared at him then turne my attention back to Carlisle. I nodded, he clapped his hands and stood up. "Well then we start in two days" I stood up too and shook his hand, "Have fun on your...get together" he chuckled. I shook my head and half smiled.

        On our way back home, I stared at the clothes. With anyone else I would have set them straight and told them no is no, but with Alice it was different. With all of them it was different, have I gone soft? I heard Edward chuckle, Bella was zoned out but came back to earth when she heard him chuckle. When we got back I was the first out of the car, "Thanks" I said before I ran to the door. It was open, Charlie was watching a football game now. "Oh, hey you're back early" he said, I nodded and ran at a normal pace towards my room. I layed the clothes out on the bed and looked them over. Which one will impress him the most, wait why do I care so much? He is just some boy, but he looks so darn cute. I sighed and sat on my bed, I rubbed my eyes. Bella came up with out Edward, good I don't need his mind reading ability to get in the way right now. Bella came and sat on her bed facing me, "Whats wrong?" How was i supposed to answer? Oh yea my dad would beat me sensless everyday and now I can't get this boy out of my head but I don't if I should trust him because everyone in my life has betrayed me? I laughed to myself, then sighed in frustration. "Nothing" I said then picked the outfit with the purple shirt. I folded the other clothes and put them in my backpack.I looked at the clock and got up. "I'm tired can I go to sleep?" I asked, Bella nodded and went to the bathroom to change. I didn't have pajamas so i just tucked myself into bed and tried to sleep. I never did like sleeping in actual beds, I always slept outside because everyone of my adoptive parents yelled or fought at night. It was quiet, I hated it. I jumped out of bed and opened the window, she had tree right outside the window, perfect. I jumped and landed on a huge branch i went to the base and laid my head against the tree. I closed my eyes and drifted into a troubled sleep.
