Brand New Beginning

Chapter Thirteen

                              "Hello Charlie" I said and walked into the living room. "Oh hey, how was your date?" He asked smiling. I frowned "It wasn't a date, it was just two friends getting together" I said. Then why did you want to kiss him? I sighed then sat next to Charlie, "How did you know what I was doing?" I asked watching the basketball. "Alice told me and she also said that Carlisle would like to see you tomorrow as soon as possible" he said, groaning at the missed shot. "Yea I know I will go after breakfast" we watched the game in silence for a while. Charlies team was losing so he kept getting up to get water. "Oh I almost forgot, Bella said she had something to tell you and that when you got back you should go find her. She said she would be at the Cullen's house" Charlie said sitting back down. "Oh ok, I will go look for her now then" I said getting up. "Sorry to keep ditching you like this" I said stopping at the door. "Its alright, I knew you would be gone most of the day" he said looking at me. "The next time there is a big game I will stay and watch it with you" I said opening the door. Charlie smiled and turned back to the TV, I left the house and ran into the woods. I ran in the direction of the cullens house, then I felt eyes on me. I stopped and looked around, nothing was there. I heard a twig snap and a I could see something running but it was too fast. I ran as fast as I could to the Cullens house. I could hear the thing following me, I ran faster. It can't be him, my life was just starting to get better.

        Suddenly the footsteps retreated and then I couldn't hear anything anymore. I kept running none the less. Suddenly I could hear more footsteps but coming from ahead of me. I stopped running and crouched into defensive position. Suddenly they burst from the trees and I hissed at them but It was only Edward, Emmet, and Jasper. I sighed in relief and stood up straight, they stopped runnning when they saw me and looked around. "Are you ok?" Edward asked looking at me. "I'm fine" I hadn't realized that I was panting until now. I calmed my breathing but my heart was stil racing. "What happened I could hear your thoughts" Edward said getting closer. "Nothing" I lied, Edward and Jasper gave me a skeptical look but let it go, at least for now. "Come on" he said turning around. We ran towards the house, Edward was really fast, I couldn't really keep up but it seemed Emmet and Jasper were always behind me. We stopped running when we got to the house, I followed Edward to the door but hesitated again when he opened the door. I entered the house and stood to the side, they were in the living room again. Jasper went and sat next to Alice and Emmet stood behind Rosalies chair. Edward walked over to Bella and sat stood next to her. "Hello again Nicollete" Carlisle said smiling, I didn't smile but nodded. "Well we thought you should know that, more vampires are coming" I tensed. I came here to avoid vampires. Guess thats not going to hapen, I came to vampire central. I saw Edward half smile, Carlisle took that as a good sign and went on. "There is going to be a big fight, they are looking for Bella" I looked at Bella and she seemed to shrink into Edward under my gaze. "Why?" I asked turning back to Carlisle. "A vampire named Victoria wants to kill Bella because Edward killed her mate James. Now Victoria created an army and is looking to kill her and the rest of us. I thought since this is now your home, you should know what is going on" he said and sat next to Esme. "Are you expecting me to fight?" I asked, he shook his head "No".

                 I nodded and looked out the window, "Are the wolves fighting?" I asked. "Yes we are teahing them how to fight, that is also what I wanted to ask you. Do you want to come with us and learn how to fight newborns? It could come in handy if one escapes our clutches and runs into you" Carlisle said. Maybe learning how to fight will be a good thing, I can defend myself a little better. "Sure i'll go with you" I said leaning on my right leg. "Ok lets go I don't want to keep them waiting" he smiled and got up. I followed him, he lead us into the garage. I could feel my eyes getting bigger by the moment, they had sme nice cars. I couldn't take my eyes off the volvo. "Thats my car" Edward said smiling. "You get to ride with me and Bella" he said walking towards his car. As soon as everyone was in the car we took off. I saw the trees pass by in a blur, soon we were outside a clearing. We got out and stood on one side of the clearing, I looked at the other side and saw the wolves standing there. The black one looked at me then back to Carlisle. "She won't be fighting" Edward said. The wolf nodded and looked at Carlisle. The training began when Jasper started talking. One by one one of the vampires would go and try to fight Jasper but lost most the time. Jasper gave pointers and explained his moves. I watched memorizing every move and detail. After two hours of fighting they stopped and told them to meet again tomorrow. The fight was in three days, I sighed and looked at everyone. They all seemed happy even though they could die. I felt something nudge me, I turned around and saw Seth in his wolf form. I smiled and petted his head, his fur was so soft. Sam growled and looked at us, Seth looked at him and Sam growled but nodded. I gave Seth a confused look but he almost seemed to smile. "He wants to know if you would like to go to Emilys house" I turned to see Edwward standing behind me. I turned to Seth, "Right now?" he nodded his head and put his nose to my forehead. I giggled and nodded. He turned so I can climb on his back, "Bella!" I shouted. She was talking to Jasper, "Tell Charlie I'm going to Emily's house" she nodded and turned back to Jasper.

              I climbed ontop of Seth and grabbed his fur so I wouldn't fall off. I smiled at Edward and patted Seths head. He got up and ran towards Sam, he looked at me then ran through the forest. I laughed and leaned foreward, he barked and ran faster. All too soon we reached Emilys house, I saw all the wolves stop in the woods and look at me. Seth stopped too and I got off of him, I petted his head one last time before running to Emilys front porch. I was there in a second and knocked on the door. Emily opened the door and smiled, I smiled back and let her hug me. "Its so good to see you again" Emily said smiling and pulling me inside. She sat me down on one of the chairs, she walked into the kitchen and brought back a plate full of muffins. I remebered the first time I got here, I smiled and took a muffin. "So how have you been" I laughed, "I've only been gone for for two days" I said. She laughed too and then I heard the door open. The boys and the girl walked in, Seth smiled and took the seat next to me. Everyone else either took a seat or stood. "Hey Nicollete" "Hey" I smiled and Embry and Jared and nodded. Embry sat next to me and Jared took the seat next to Seth. Sam walked over to Emily and kissed her, then each one of her scars. I looked at everyone, they had two muffins in hand and wer eating a lot of the muffins. I looked at the girl but she was glaring at me, I looked at the mufin in my hand and nibbled it. "So you're not going to fight?" Embry asked, "No" I said biting into my muffin. "To scared to fight" I heard the boy in front of me snicker. I heard Seth growl, "No, this is not my fight" I stated and took another bite, never breaking eye contact. He glared at me but didn't say anything else. "So Nicollete do you know what imprinting is?" Jared asked. I could feel Seth tense next to me. I could see everyone either try to not to smile or look down at their food. I shook my head. "Don't worry Seth can tell you" he said smiling. The tension left quickly and everyone dug in to the next plae full of muffins.

                I knew they weren't going to say anything while i was here. Seth seemed to think a long those lines, "So Nicollete do wana go for a walk?" "Sure" I said getting up. I said goodbye to Emily and followed Seth out the door. He led me by the mountain. We walked in silnece for awhile until we reached the beach. Cool the beach looked so pretty, we sat on a dead tree that had fallen a long time ago. I sat on the beach with my back against the tree, Seth followed my example. The sound of the waves calmed me. "So what is imprinting?" I asked looking at him. He ran his hand through his hair and sighed. "Its when we find our soulmates, its no longer gravity holding down to earth its her" he looked at me. "You would be anything for her, a brother, a friend....a boyfriend" he said. He never looked away from me. I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Have you imprinted on someone?" He nodded his head. I looked away from him, "Who". He was silent fo a while but then i felt him put his hand under my chin, he moved my head until I was looking at him. "You" he whispered then leaned foreward until his lips touched mine. I felt sparks fly, my whole entire body was on fire. I have never felt like this, then I remebered abou my dad. I pulled away, If my father found out about him he would hurt him, or worse. "I can't" I whispered, I turned to him. He looked sad but nodded, "I need a friend right now, Im not ready for anything else" He nodded. "Then I will be your best friend" he said smiling. I smild too and hugged him. It felt right to be in his arms, but if my father found me then he would be in danger.

                  We seperated and looked out to the beach. The sunset was so beautiful I felt time freeze. As soon as it set I got up, "I should be getting home now". Home? Did I just call this place home? "Ok I will walk you home" I smiled and agreed. We were walking down the beach when we was about to go through the forest. I stopped, "Lets go another way". "If we go another you won't get home until midnight". I eyed the woods wearly, "I will protect you, I promise" he said holding my hand. I relaxed and nodded, it will be fine. He lead me through the woods but the whole time I scanned the woods looking for any danger. We reached Charlies house in ten minutes and not once did I feel eyes or anything following me. Seth walked me up to the front door, "Thank you" I said, he smiled "Anytime" he said. We stared at each other and finally hugged. I forced myself away from him and walked inside. Charlie was in the kitchen eating, "What took you so long" he said. "I was with Seth" I said blushing. "Oh, ok" he said then went back to his food. I walked upstairs and went straight for the window. Bella was in bed but she was already asleep. Edward was laying next to her but he was obviously awake. I was about to jump out of the window and into the tree when Edward asked "Why do you like sleeping outside?" "I'm used to it. I am more comfortable in a tree" I sad and with that I jumped out of the house and onto the tree. I leaned my back onto the trunk and relaxed. I looked up and saw a shooting star,I smiled and closed my eyes. I wish for a normal life, not one on the run. With that I fell into a deep sleep.
