Brand New Beginning

Chapter Sixteen

                   We were lead to the Cullens house, I stayed on Seths back the whole time. I didn't want them to fight him, they would lose. Why should they fight for me anyway, i'm nothing. "You are not nothing Nicollete" Edward said looking up at me. I got off of Seth and let him run into the woods to change. "Especially to Seth" Edward whispered the last part then walked with Emmett to the house. Seth came up and walked with me to the Cullens house. We entered the house to find everybody all ready in the living room. This time Alice didn't come up and hug me she just gave me a sympathetic look. I looked away and sat in the arm chair, Seth stood next to me. "Sam heard our conversation and wants to come over and listen to the conversation" Seth said looking at Carlisle. Carlisle nodded and gave Edward and Jasper a knowing look. They left, then the room was very quiet. "Are you ok sweetie?" Esme asked looking at me. I nodded, "I'm fine" I said starting to play with my necklace. Seth put his hand on my shoulder and I instantly relaxed. It's weird how he affects me like this, I didn't realize it but I was leaning into his hand. I pulled back and tried to act calm. I looked out the door and expected to see him standing there with those dead eyes. I shook and crossed my arms, he could be out there right now.

       Suddenly I could hear rapid heart beats outside then the door opened. I shrank a little bit then sat upr right. Sam and the pack walked in then saw Seth. They stood next to Seth and crossed there buff arms. I felt like the walls were suddenly closing in on me, I wiggled in my seat and grabbed my necklace again. Suddenly I felt calm and not so nervous, I glanced at Jasper and nodded at him. He gave me a half smile then focused on Carlisle who was now seated in the middle of the large sofa. "Nicollete there have been some incadents these past couple of days," Carlisle began, "we believe they were done by a vampire." I got immediatly got defensive, "I didn't do it" I claimed moving to the edge of my seat. Carlisle put his hands up and I could tell everyone had tensed. I leaned back in my seat and Seth put his arm on my shoulder. I felt calm and let myself relax, "Thats not what I ment" Carlisle said. Edward gave me a look and I shrank, "is there someone out there that you know?" Carlisle said. I thought about it, what if he is out there. "I think it is my dad" I said looking at Edward. Edward nodded and gave Carlisle a look. "What does that mean?" Sam said moving foreward a bit. "It means we got more trouble then just the newborn vampires" Carlisle said. Suddenly Alice froze and a far away look came about her. Jasper grabbed her hand, "What is it Alice? What do you see?" "I don't know this vampire but he will be here in a week" she said. I pictured my dad in my head then looked at Edward. He nodded, "Thats her dad. He is coming." If he is coming in a week then that gives me enough time to get out of Forks and find a new home. Maybe I should already leave, I can be gone by tonight. Suddenly I felt Seths hand on my shoulder and I could feel he was tense. I can't leave Forks I thought suddenly. "You don't need to leave Nicollete" Edward said. I looked at him, I hate it when he reads my mind. "We can take care of you" Carlisle said. I don't need anyone to take care of me, I have been doing fine jumping around the place. "You can't leave" Seth said kneeling infront of me.

           "We can take him" Sam said and the boys nodded in agreement. "No you can't fight him" I said standing up. "He has a strong power like me" I said, I moved the the door and stood by it. "What's his power?" Carlsile said. I froze, I trembled at the thought of his power. "Nicollete?" Carlisle said. I turned to him, "He can make you feel pain," I said crossing my arms, "Where ever he wants you to feel pain." I know that they will lose, and I couldn't stand to see them hurt. "If I leave then no one will get hurt" I said. "We won't let anything happen to you" Seth said walking towards me. "He is really strong, you won't get hurt because of me. I have left all those houses before" I said. "You are with us now and we will protect you don't worry. You have become part of our family now, we will protect you like a family member" Carlisle said. I looked at him then at Seth and the pack. "You are Seths imprint, we will help protect you" Sam said and the rest of the pack nodded. "And you're really cool" Embry said smiling. I smiled at them then looked at Edward. "It's your choice" he said then leaned on the door frame. Seth grabbed my hand, "Please don't go" he whispered. I looked into his brown eyes, if I leave I knew I couldn't stay away from him that long. I sighed, "I will stay," I said, they all smiled, "but when he comes you will stay clear of him." They all looked at me, I knew Seth wasn't going to be ok with this but it won't be ok with me if he gets hurt. "Nicollete we can help you," Carlisle said, "you won't have to run anymore." Not having to run away would feel nice. To be able to stay in one place, to fear nothing. "Ok" I said, Seth squeezed my hand and lead me back to the sofa. "Ok we will need to upgrade the security around Bella's house. You probably shouldn't go anywhere alone for now incase he comes a bit early" Carlisle said. I nodded and looked around the room, "Yes we get to have another fight" Emmett said smiling. "I will fight with you then," I said, "Against the newborns." "You don't have to" Carlisle said. "I know but I owe you" I said.
