The ship brought itself to a stop at the dead centre of the street, facing the five of us lined up. I looked at the ship and gave a sigh. From one battle to another, no time to think of anything from my past. I guess that was one benefit of war.
Oh, I have a really bad feeling about this.
"Friday, evac anyone south of 43rd Street. Notify first responders," Tony shouted to no one that I could see. Stephen conjured some sort of force and sent it spiraling at the ship, blowing dust from our view. In the distance, sirens went off. In front of us, a blue beam was shot from the craft, leaving two men in its wake. There stood the squidlike man and the one who towered over the rest of those killers. Together, the group made its way forward. I brandished my hilt, but did not ignite my blade, and led the way. My master's crystal clinked against the metal of the weapon. Tony was the first to approach the beings.
The squidlike being opened his arms, "Hear me and rejoice. You are about to die at the hands of the Children of Thanos. Be thankful..."
Besides him, the tall creature spoke in a language I could barely understand, but it sounded much like Tusken, only more techno.
"...that your meaningless lives are now contributing—" The squidlike being continued up till Tony cut him off.
"I'm sorry, Earth is closed today," Tony called out to the being. "You better pack it up and get outta here."
The being ignored Tony as he stared at Stephen. "Stonekeeper. Does this chattering animal speak for you?"
I suppose I would have found that remark funny, but given my knowledge of what this being is capable of, I held my tongue and found it only vulgar. Apparently, Stephen did as well, only in the opposite way. "Certainly not. I speak for myself."
Stephen activated his magic once more as he walked closer to the being. "You're trespassing in this city and on this planet."
Wong activated his own magic as I held my hilt accordingly, ready for a possible attack, however, I held off on the ignition.
"He means get lost, Squidward," Tony shouted at the squidlike being.
"He exhausts me. Bring me the stone," The squidlike being demanded of the tall creature. The creature slammed his pickaxe weapon onto the ground as Tony leaned over to Bruce.
"Banner, you want a piece?" Tony asked. Still keeping my eyes on the being I answered for Banner.
"If you mean to call upon the beast within Bruce, then I am afraid that won't be possible," I explained as Bruce and Tony looked over at me. "During the battle between Thanos and the Hulk, Hulk was quite terrified of a being of such power to be able to take him on, let alone beat him."
Tony looked to Bruce, "Is that true?"
Bruce gave a shrug as the creature stalked closer. "I sensed the fear within him. Perhaps you should get to somewhere safe, Bruce."
Wong opened a way for Bruce as the creature began to sprint towards us, roaring. Tony followed a sequence on his shirt that led to a metal encasing his body. I broke my stare from the creature to watch as Tony made his way closer to it. What a strange technology. Tony took off his goggles as the metal covered his head. He leaped forward and activated a shield as the creature pounded down on him. Tony had become completely covered in a metal suit.
Retaliating with an upwards strike, Tony caused the creature to fumble back. It gave a mighty roar as it regained its composure. Tony sent a powerful, yellow beam of light, knocking the creature back to the squidlike being, who moved it from his path with a wave of his hand. I gave a small smile. Two can play with that type of ability and it was my much-preferred use of combat to the lightsabre. The creature hit against a speeder and struggled to stand once more.
