As the darkness begins to break, light spills onto the wave of hideous creatures. Small portal circles appear and begin to grow. In the light, stands the King of Wakanda, his warrior, and sister. Steve is not alone.
And neither am I.
The warriors approach Steve just as Sam flies from above. More golden arches and circles grow, bringing forth warriors to stand beside their leader. A few of them I recognise, but many I do not. They are here and going to help us win. Here, at the end, we stand together, unlike the end of the Jedi. The Jedi were divided, driven apart by greed and power. But not today. Not here.
My heart feels light as I step forward, followed by Bruce and Rocket, to join the rallying guardians.
Cabur.
The Wakandan warriors begin to shout their war cry as more of their army joins their forces. Each of them lining up to face our common enemy. I move through the growing number of warriors to Steve's side, giving a soft smile as I watch Thanos step back in alarm. Steve reaches out a hand, pulling a hammer his grasp.
"AVENGERS..." He glances at me with a sly smile that I return, bringing the hammer to his chest. "... assemble."
Thor gives a hearty war cry, rushing forward with the soldiers around us charging into Thanos's army. I run along beside them, the Avengers. Thanos raises his sword, directing the creatures against us. Valkyrie flies above me whilst seated on a winged orbaks, a creature I believed to not exist here. Tony flies beside her, leading an army of metal suited warriors, including the one that appears to be Rhodey. I look down with a slight smirk on my lips, no one can miss this battle.
My steps are outmatched by a giant of a man dressed in deep red as he charges forward, sending jolts of slight earthquakes through the ground with each step. The setting sun gleams through the dust as the war rages. This is the final war, I can feel it in more than just the weakened Force around me, a solid reminder that this galaxy is so much unlike my home.
The endgame is now.
As my stomach heaves with my sabre cutting through a creature, I know that this feeling does not match that of five years ago. Yet, this feeling, makes me feel uneasy still. The amber glow of my sabre colours the decaying flesh of the monsters. One after another, I fight, backing the monsters down. A man dressed in a black trench coat and matching eye patch fights along side me, replacing where Steve had been, except he fires a blaster.
My head tingles as a monster launches itself at his back. I react instantly, severing the creatures head from its body. The man turns to look at the now fallen creature.
"Thanks," He breathes, coming to face me. "You must be..."
The air catches in my lungs as we stare at one another, a memory hammers against my head.
"Ad'be'skanah*..." I breathe as the man holds up his arms, laughing mockingly.
"Motherfucker... Xodiva Lythl. You're still alive!?" He exclaims, firing at another creature. I grimace.
"Master Windu, I am just as shocked to see that you had not perished and are in fact living on Earth," I force a smile. Of the Jedi, he was not one that I was too familar with. Except in the cases when he had ridiculed me for being of my heritage.
"I'm surprised you still remember how to use a lightsaber after all these years," He shouts as I cut down another enemy soldier.
"Mando'ad draar digu*," I mutter under my breath, taking out several more. Bucky runs between us, carrying Rocket in his metal arm as the rabbit fires his blaster and firing his own blaster in the other. I give Mace Windu a quick but forced smile and chase after the soldier, deeper into the battle. As I run side with Bucky, I hold the comm in my ear.
