Asking you to stay-Taylor Swift
Maria
The next week was pretty normal. I went to classes and Kesem meetings. Sophie had started coming over again. In truth, I had been wanting to bring her back into my life for a few weeks prior, so nothing ever felt forced. Mason was over every day and although Max whined about it, I knew he secretly liked having us both around all the time. He hardly ever went out anymore, opting to spend time with us watching movies and eating dinner.
Thursday night Sophie was over for dinner. Mason was at the counter preparing the chicken, while I chopped vegetables next to him. Sophie and Max were sitting next to each other watching.
"How is that girl in your class?" I asked Sophie.
"So annoying," Sophie said rolling her eyes. "She literally texts me every day asking for the notes."
"Does she not come to class?" Mason chuckled.
"She does! She sits right next to me and online shops the whole time," Sophie said shaking her head.
"I hate those kinds of girls," Max said shaking his head. "I always get distracted wanting to watch their screen instead of listening to the lecture."
"Yes! And she has those long nails that make it so loud every time she types," Sophie sighed. Max chuckled shaking his head.
"I mean I feel bad ignoring her, but I don't really want to keep sending her my notes. I don't get a free pass, so why should she?"
"If I were you I would block her number," Max said stealing a piece of broccoli off the cutting board.
"Yeah, but she sits right next to me and I don't want her to think I'm a bitch," Sophie sighed. Max just shrugged. We all knew he didn't really care about what people thought of him. Mason and I put our food into the oven.
As we waited for dinner we talked about classes and work, and the strange decorations Max's latest conquest had in her apartment. As we sat down to dinner my phone rang loudly causing me to jump.
"I don't understand why you don't keep that shit on silent," Max said shaking his head as we looked down at the unknown number.
"Let me answer," Mason said holding his hand out. I handed him the phone rolling my eyes, as Sophie watched guiltily.
"Hello?" Mason asked leaning back as we served ourselves.
"Who is it?" I whispered.
"Trent again," Mason said rolling his eyes. "No sorry man, I don't know a Maria. Honestly, I keep getting phone calls from people like every fucking day asking about her. I have a life, so if you and your friends could leave me the fuck alone, I would really appreciate it."
