Untouchable, burning brighter than the sun
And when you're close, I feel like coming undone

I loved spending time at Mason's childhood home and it was the first time in a long time I was with a real family at Thanksgiving. However, I was happy to be back at the apartment. I was happy to get back to routine and classes. Of course, that would only last two weeks before we were on winter break.

"So what are you doing for winter break?" Mason asked me as we sat eating dinner in the apartment with Max.

"My uncle is going to come into town for the week of Christmas," I answered.

"Your Uncle?" Mason asked confused.

"Yeah um... My dad's brother. He's the only one who knows where I am. He helps me with financial stuff," I shrugged. "He knows not to tell anyone about where I am."

"I'm sure it will be good to see him," Mason replied and I nodded.

"What are you doing for break?" I asked looking up at him. Although we hadn't been together that long, it would definitely be weird not seeing him for a few weeks.

"I'm only going to my mom's for the week of Christmas because I have to work," Mason replied and I nodded.

"Are you going with him?" I asked Max.

"Yeah," Max nodded.

"Good," I smiled.

"I have to go out of town this weekend," Mason told me with a sigh resting his head on my shoulder.

"Why?" I asked looking down at him.

"I have to go to New York for work," he replied stroking my hair. "I wish I could just stay here with you especially since we'll be apart for a week."

"It's only a weekend," I shrugged.

"Mason you're so whipped," Max chuckled shaking his head.

"You'll get it someday," Mason said shaking his head.

Saturday morning, I came home from some girl's house to find Maria sniffling on the couch.

"Maria?" I asked worriedly. I figured she was upset because Mason was gone and I knew I would have to give them shit about it.

"Sorry," she said wiping her eyes.

"Is this because of Mason?" I asked.
