Have my back, yeah, everyday
Feels like home, stay in bed
The whole weekend

I was eating breakfast, when Mason came in and sat next to me. "It was awful quiet last night for a couple who has been apart for a week," I said with a smirk."I should have known you were going to be a perv," Mason huffed moving to stand back up.
"Oh come on," I said rolling my eyes. "What's up man?"
"She told me about her sister," he said with a sigh.
"She's dead right?" I asked looking at him.
"Yeah, she killed herself," Mason answered looking tired. "She said she is the only one who knows why because her sister wrote her a note and specifically asked her not to tell anyone, which is why she left Maine. She's the one who found her. I just wish she didn't go through so much shit. It's not fair."
"It's not," I agreed. "What do you think happened? I mean it must be hard keeping a secret like that from everyone, but it had to be something pretty crazy to make her run. She had family and friends she had known her whole life that she won't even speak to anymore."
"I don't know. I just hate that she has to live with whatever it is all on her own. I don't know how to help her," I shrugged.
"I don't know man, but whatever you're doing seems to be working," Max shrugged. "She's happy with you and I hardly ever see her upset despite everything she's been through."
Mason just nodded and rested his head on the counter.
"Mase," Maria said coming out of her bedroom.
"Morning babe," Mason said lifting his head and giving her a big smile.
"I don't like waking up to a cold bed," she pouted coming to wrap herself around him.
"Sorry babe," Mason chuckled kissing the top of his head.
"Gross," I said pushing my bowl away. In truth, I actually thought they were really pretty cute. I had never been one to care about a couple before, but I saw first hand how much they both supported each other. I mean Mason had never told anyone he loved them and now it slipped out of his mouth with ease. Maria obviously talked to him about things she wasn't comfortable talking about with anyone else. At times, it almost made me jealous that they had each other and loved each other so completely, however, I knew I wasn't ready to support someone like that yet. At least when I supported Maria, she had someone more reliable to lean on when I fucked up.
"Since you left me all alone this morning, will you make me a bowl of yogurt?" Maria asked giving Mason a pout.
"Sure love," Mason laughed getting out of the chair, which Maria quickly sat in resting her head on my shoulder.
"How did you sleep?" She asked me gently.
"Good, I was telling Mason your room was pretty quiet last night," I answered.
"I told you I have manners," she said sitting up and rolling her eyes at me.
"I told you not to be a perv," Mason said giving me a glare.
"Aw Maria can take it," I laughed giving Maria's shoulder a squeeze. "She knows I'm joking."
"I know," she smiled patting my thigh lightly. "So what are you guys doing for New Years?"
"There's a frat party," I shrugged. Maria nodded biting her lip. "What are you doing?" I asked.
"I don't know," she shrugged. "Most of the people from Kesem aren't back yet, so I don't really have any plans."
"Is Sophie coming back?" Mason asked sliding a bowl in front of her before sitting next to her.
"Yeah, she'll be back next week for the start of classes," Maria nodded.
"How is she doing?" I asked curiously.
"Alright," she shrugged. "I'll definitely have to keep an eye on her this semester."
"So are you going to come to the frat party for New Years then?" I asked and Mason let out a loud laugh.
"No fucking way I'm letting her step foot in that place again," Mason said shaking his head.
"Maybe we should go out though," Maria said tapping her finger on her jaw. "I kind of want to... maybe a club or bar. I don't want to go to the frat."
"If you go out, I'll go too," I replied and Maria gave me a grin.
"Sure love, I think the bar we usually go to is having a party," Mason answered. "How does that sound?"
"Good," Maria grinned.
"Sounds like a plan," I said.

The next few days we spent at the apartment just relaxing. It was way to cold to go anywhere, so we spent hours on the couch watching movies or in my bed reading. Max didn't have anywhere to go either, so he spent a lot of time with us. He had learned to like my cheesy rom coms and their superhero movies had grown on me. Surprisingly he never felt like a third wheel."You're so pretty," Mason said one night as we laid in my bed. I had on his sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants. It was freezing in our apartment and Mason complained every night about the amount of blankets I had piled on my bed.
"You're distracting me," I sighed looking back down at the manuscript I was working on.
"Will you read to me?" He asked playing with my hair.
"I'm in the middle of rewriting something," I answered biting on the end of my pen.
"How did I get such a smart girlfriend. Her words are in published books. How crazy is that?"
"It's not even like my name is on anything," I said rolling my eyes.
"Some day you're going to write a book and it's going to sell out around the world. I know it," Mason grinned kissing my cheek.
"I love you, but can we have this conversation in ten minutes?" I laughed trying to focus on the words in front of me and in my head.
"No way," Mason laughed pinching my sides. "You're too cute for me to ignore it."
I couldn't help but burst into giggles as he kissed my cheeks. Those were my favorite kind of nights- the ones where nothing really happened, but I was just happy.
