You wake up at your desk and notice that the sun is just about to rise. You sigh in relief, if it weren't for the uncomfortable position you fell asleep in while reading your book, you probably wouldn't have woken up in time for training.
You sit up and move your neck around and stretch. You then change into your uniform and brush your hair, putting it up in a ponytail. "I wonder if Eren's up yet." You think as you exit your room. You walk downstairs and grab a bread roll before leaving the building.

You walk up to the entrance of the training forest when you notice two figures, one sitting and one resting up against a tree.
"You're late." Levi states with an unimpressed look.
"How? I'm here at the crack of dawn just like you said." You reply in a slightly annoyed tone. "And why do we need to train? It's not like they let fumbling idiots into the survey corps."
"You have never encountered a real titan, you have never had a reason to use your ODM gear before." Levi states as he adjusts his ODM gear and points you towards yours. "Put it on and follow me."
"Okay... Hey but why is Eren here?" You ask as you grab your ODM gear.
"I'm not leaving him alone with my subordinates while they sleep." Levi answers bluntly as he flies off into the trees. You and Eren follow.
"So Eren... You're... Titan form?.. Is it strong?" You ask as you and Eren fly closely behind Levi.
"Well... I don't exactly remember everything I did when I was a titan but... Armin told me I killed a fair few titans.." The boy replies.
"Is that why you're with Levi and his squad? You're unpredictable and that makes you a threat?" You ask as you get a small nod from Eren.
"It's not like I cant control myself but... It's really difficult sometimes. I almost killed my best friend..." Eren trails off.
"Oi! Brats! Land up on that branch there!" Levi yells as he points to a large branch high up on a tree. You and Eren nod at each other and grapple up to the branch. Levi latches to the tree, he is a few metres above you and looks down at the two of you. "Now listen up. I'm only gonna run this course once. If you fail to complete it perfectly the first time, you will be here until sunset practising it until you get it right. You wont leave this forest, eat, drink or sleep until you can run this course perfectly." Levi states as he swings off the tree and begins to go through the course. You and Eren have your eyes stuck to him like glue.
Levi flies throughout the trees with an extreme speed, dodging any sudden branches and obstacles in the way. A practice titan dummy appears and within an instant, the captain slices through the bag that symbolises the beasts nape. The captain does this a few more times with a dozen titans before circling back to the branch you and Eren are on.
"Whoa.." You whisper to Eren, shocked of the captains amazing performance. "I heard he was good but... His skills are unparalleled to that of the other cadets and even his superiors.."
"Hey, brat!" Levi says as he points a blade towards you. "Go." He states as you snap out of your thoughts.
You take in a deep breath as you dive off of the branch, as if you were diving into a lake, and fly throughout the trees. Your eyes dart around the forest as you try to avoid obstacles. You try to remember when and where the titans appeared for Levi when one suddenly appears not thirty metres in front of you. "F/N lookout!" Eren yells as you only just fly over the obstacle and loop back around and slice its nape. "Whoa that was awesome!" You hear Eren call out in the distance, making you grin with pride and satisfaction. "Damn right it was."
You continue to fly through the forest and slice through many titan dummies. As you round the final bend you speed up, not thinking they would put a titan at the very end, you let go of your surroundings and peacefully fly through the trees. "Damn I missed this feeling." You rushed through the last stretch when you hear Eren yelling something to you.
"F/N! Watch it!.. F/N!" Eren yells making you snap out of your relaxed state to find yourself racing towards a titan dummy within twenty metres. "Fuck! Shit! Fuck! Oh fucking shit!" You hear yourself say as you try to dodge the obstacle. You fly over it but are too slow to get some decent altitude, as a result, you hit the wooden dummy with your knees and hurdle towards a tree. "I'm gonna fucking die from a tree?!" You think to yourself as you pull your knees up to your chest and cover your face with your arms, squeezing your eyes shut. "I'm so fucking pathetic." Is the last thing you think to yourself as you prepare for impact.
"Oi, how long are you going to stay like that?" You hear as you open your eyes. You see an arm wrapped around your two arms that had been covering you head. Slowly, you uncurl from your rather comfy position and look up to see Eren above you, attached to the tree you were about to slam into like a bug on a windshield. Eren gives you a small, relieved smile before flying back up to the branch.
You then look to you left where you see Levi staring at you, faces not two inches apart, you feel his breath on you and his cold eyes piercing through you as if he is reading into every small detail on your life. "Hey, answer me. Are you okay? You can hear me right?" Levi asks as he stares into your eyes with concern.
"Y-Yeah I'm... Fine." You say shakily as you twist around so you and your body are now facing him. "Just... A little shaken up I guess.." You breathe out as he nods and lets out a sigh of relief.
"I'm sorry... I should have been more focused... You told me to do something and I failed to do it right.... Again.." You say, mumbling the last part as Levi carries you up to the tree branch.
"Idiot.. Just stay focused and try again. I'll stay for a little while to observe you and Eren to make sure you start to get the hang of it before leaving. And don't use your gas so freely. There's always a limit and trust me, you don't want to reach it while on an expedition." Levi states as he sits you down on the branch before telling Eren to run the course.
"Whoa... Is Levi... Actually... A nice guy? He actually seemed worried when I first looked up at him... And despite me not listening to him... He is still training me and teaching me new things because he wants me to be ready and know how to handle myself when we go out on expeditions. This whole time... I was jealous of a man I had never met. A man who everyone said was 'humanities strongest'. A man who, when I finally met him, I thought was cold and apathetic, incapable of caring about anyone or anything in the slightest. I know I never like to admit when i'm wrong.. My pride doesn't allow it but... Levi is... Something else. He is... Amazing. Such power contained in someone so small and so seemingly emotionless. I... Did I really just fall in love with a man because we looked in each others eyes for like ten seconds?.. Whatever... I want him to... No... I need him to teach me everything he knows. I want to become the best and fight alongside him. I'll do whatever it takes. I wont let him or anyone else down ever again!"
