"What's taking them so long?" You whisper, annoyed, to Levi as you both sit behind one side of a roof.
"Quiet, just be patient F/N." Levi replies, not even glancing at you, eyes focused on the ground below.
"Do you think they ran into some trouble? Do you think someone found out that Eren isn't actually in the carriage?" You question as you look at Levi.
"No." He replies flatly.
"Huh? How do you know?" You ask.
"Because they're right there if you would look." Levi informs as he turns your head to face the ground where Eren, Annie, Mikasa and Armin are now located. "Keep quiet, if she is who we believe her to be, she is probably already suspicious and extra aware of her surroundings." He adds.
...
"They're going down the tunnel..." You say as you stay seated behind the other side of the pointed roof.
"She's hesitating.." Levi states. You both slowly begin to rise to the point of the roof, hands twitching at your blades. "Be ready."
Suddenly, a loud hysterical laugh was heard coming from the girl in question. "What the hell is this to her? Some sort of game?!" You think to yourself as you slowly slide down the side of the roof that is facing Annie, Levi quietly follows. Eren's yells could be heard from a kilometre away, begging the blonde to come down with them. That's when Mikasa took charge and unsheathed her blades, pointing them at Annie.
"Levi..." You begin.
"I know..." He replies as he tries to signal Mikasa to back down but to no avail. A few more words were exchanged before a dozen men charged out from behind boxes and trash they had previously been hiding in. They all grabbed Annie's arms, trying to prevent her from shifting.
"Hey... Levi.." You say in a moment of realisation. "You said Eren's arm grew back after it was bitten off right?" You ask, receiving a nod from the man. "So all I would need to do is sever her arms and she wouldn't be able to shift right?" You then ask, relieving a concerned nod from Levi again.
"F/N, we don't even know if she is the shifter." He states, not really sure if he is trying to fool you or himself into thinking he still has morals. "Now." He says, you nod and launch off the roof and grapple towards Annie, winding up your blade in preparation to sever the limbs from her body. You come within four metres of the girl when you see a sharp point erupt from her ring. "Shit! No!" You yell as you try to speed up. However, it is too late, by the time your blade come within a metre of the girls hand, the sharp ring had already been sliced through one of her fingers and a bright bolt of orange lightning had erupted from above her.
From midair, you are thrown back by the gust of wind the shift creates, slamming against a stone building. Annie, the now confirmed titan shifter, makes a run for it away from Levi now that he has been spotted from her new height. Levi landed on the ground next to you and clicked his tongue.
"What do we do now?" You ask as you stand back up and brush the dirt off from behind your thighs.
"We pursue her." Levi states as he looks in the direction of which the Female Titan had run in and then looks over at Eren. "I can't even see the bitch anymore. Eren, we could really use your..." Levi begins to say before he is cut off by a giant foot slamming in between you and Levi, and Eren, Mikasa and Armin. The foot then lifts only to be returned with much more force as the Female Titan kicks Eren into a building, narrowly missing Armin while Mikasa got out of the way, angry that she couldn't get Eren out of the way too.
"Eren!" Mikasa yells as she runs over to the ruins of the now destroyed house and sees Eren, crushed by the rubble.
"You lot, stay here and try to get Eren's lazy arse up. F/N, you and I are gonna hunt this bitch down." Levi states as he watches the Female Titan begin to make her real getaway now.
"Yes Sir!" You yell as you launch yourself up into the sky next to Levi and begin to pursue the Female Titan.
