Apathetic Aggressive (Levi X Reader)

You awoke to dim rays of sunlight peeking through the forest's roof. You look around, noticing Levi is not still on the branch with you. You stand up and stretch, realising he had left his cape with you for extra warmth. Once you are fully awake, you put on your cape and fold Levi's, carrying it under one arm as you fly down to the ground where you meet up with everyone.

"Morning F/N, get enough sleep?" Hanji asks through a yawn as she mounts her horse.

"Really? That's the first thing you ask? Not 'did you see anything weird last night?'" You question as you look around for Levi.

"Well, Levi did say he didn't spot any titans last night and he was with you all night." Jean informs as he hops on his horse. 

"Yeah... Speaking of Levi, where is he? We're leaving soon aren't we? Why isn't he here?" You ask, confused.

"He said he wanted to do one last sweep of the forest to make sure we have a clear exit." Jean states.

"Oh. Okay." You reply as you walk over to Levi's horse and put his folded cape gently on the back of its saddle. You then walk over to your horse, greeting him and patting his head. Once you are all saddled up, Levi returns and swiftly lands on his horse. He sits down and notices his cape behind him, he picks it up and glances at you before covering himself with it.

"Alright, let's go. It's clear this way." Levi states as he leads the group through the forest.

"Well... At least I feel somewhat safer knowing Levi scouted the area. Way better than running through the forest blind."

"Easy boy, it's okay. There's nothing out here, just some birds. Okay?" You say quietly to your horse who is bucking slightly, getting unsettled.

"F/N, is your horse okay?" Mike asks as he rides next to you.

"Uh, yeah... He's always acting out and hard to maintain." You inform as you try to control your horse who is flicking its head around every few seconds.

"Alright, we're almost out of the forest. We should be clear until we're-" Levi says but is cut off when a fifteen metre titan appears out of nowhere. Levi tries to jump off his horse and grapple onto the titan or a nearby tree but is kicked by the large titan mid-air and is sent flying towards a distant tree.

"Levi!" You yell as you try to steer your horse in the direction of your captain. Your horse, however, has other plans as it bucks you off before it tries to run away but is squashed under the foot of yet another fifteen metre titan. "Dammit!" You yell as you scramble to your feet and shoot up to the branch of a tree. You view the surrounding terrain and spot three fifteen metre titans and one seven metre titan. "Shit... Where the fuck is Levi?!"

You see an opening in two of the fifteen metre titans and swoop down, successfully slicing both napes. You are about to reload your swords when the seven metre titan falls suddenly right next to you, scaring the shit out of you. "A little heads up would have been nice you arse!" You yell as you stand up and brush off the dirt on your pants and hands.

"Sorry, didn't see you there." Mike states as he lands next to you and watches as Jean takes down the last titan.

"Whoa, nice work Jean!" You and Hanji yell as you all regroup, Hanji bringing back everyone's horses except yours.

"Levi..." You whisper as you notice he is not anywhere to be found. "Levi!" You yell as you charge off in the direction in which he was kicked.

"Please be okay please be okay please be fucking okay."

You keep running until you find Levi's figure laying stiff on the ground next to a large tree. 

You race over to him and kneel next to him. He is slightly curled up on his side, unconscious and bleeding from the back of his head.

"F/N! Is he okay?!" Mike yells as everyone approaches the two of you.

"I-I don't know. He... He's bleeding... I.. I don't know how bad it is." You say, starting to hyperventilate.

"It's okay, he shouldn't have hit the tree with much force. he would have lost speed and altitude from a kick this far. best case scenario, he hit the grass and slid to the base of the tree." Hanji states as she searches the grass for any skid marks and the tree for any blood stains or dents. "The thing we should really be worried about is what that titan did to him." She informs. "Again, best case scenario, he only broke a couple ribs." 

"How is that best case scenario?!" You yell as mike rubs your back, trying to calm you down.

"Shhh F/N. It's okay. He is still breathing, look." Mike informs as he places your hand over Levi's heart. You feel a gentle, slow rise in his chest before is slowly falls. You feel his heart beat, fast and slow, but still beating. You let out a sigh, wanting to hug him but fearing what damage you may cause him.

"I can carry him back on his horse." You say. "I'm the lightest person here and I'm sure Levi isn't much heavier. Plus, as you all may know, my horse is no more.." You inform as Mike nods and picks Levi up, bringing him to his horse. You hop on his horse and give it a pet of assurance before Levi is placed between you and his horse's neck. You sigh as you take your cape off and wrap it around Levi, trying to keep him, warm, his bones somewhat stable and a somewhat comfier ride home.

"I'm so sorry. If I hadn't complained about my horse... You wouldn't have told me that we were almost out of this devilish forest.."You whisper as you begin to ride out of the forest with Mike and Hanji leading you while Jean follows closely behind you.

"Damn... His horse is a smooth ride." You note as you find yourself hardly bumping up and down. "Does he train it often? Or does he have a good bond with his horse?" You wonder, thinking back to your horse. "Sure I didn't train it much... And that was probably its downfall but... We had a pretty strong bond..." You say to yourself as you think back to all the times you played with your trouble making horse. "Damn... I'm sorry bud... Guess I'm disappointing everyone today.." You think as you look up too the sky.
