Apathetic Aggressive (Levi X Reader)

"L/N, you need to take a break. You have been out here, training, all day and night nonstop for the past two days. Please, rest." A blond boy says as he approaches you.

"I thought I made it pretty clear that I did not want to be disturbed Arlert." You state, recalling the scene you caused when some brats had tried to forcibly stop you from training. "So this better be important."

"Commander Erwin would like to speak with you in private." Armin states as you let out a sigh and nod, ceasing your repetitive attacks on the beaten dummy. You pick up your canteen and walk in the direction of Erwin's office, waving Armin off, dismissing him.

You approach the commander's door and take a deep breath before knocking on the door. "Erwin? You asked for me?" You say before mentally slapping your forehead. "F/N L/N Sir." You add, informing the commander of your presence. 

"Come in L/N." Erwin says in his deep, rough voice that only got deeper through the thick walls between the two of you. You feel a shiver race up your spine as you grab the handle and open the door. 

"Why does he want to speak with me in private? Unless he wants to promote me.. Again. Nah.. The big oaf probably something shitty planed for me.." You think to yourself as you enter the room and close the heavy door behind you. "Sir?" You ask quietly as you awkwardly stand by the door with your arms behind your back.

"Take a seat L/N." Erwin commands as he gestures to the two empty chairs facing his desk. You nod and take a seat, now less than a metre away from the commander.

"So.." Erwin says through a long, breathy exhale. "The Female titan. We have been able to deduct the most likely host. Some of the newer cadets were able to put two and two together and gave me a name last night. We aren't certain but, it is likely that Annie Leonhart is the Female titan. She is currently joined with the military police, meaning she is nowhere near us. Eren Jaeger is being transported further inside the walls in one week. We are currently putting together a plan to try and flush out the supposed titan shifter." 

"Sir? How much of this plan is done?" You ask as you awkwardly glance around the room.

"Eren, Armin and Mikasa say they knew Annie and graduated with her. They will pose as a distraction and will lead Annie underground where it will hinder her titan shifting abilities." Erwin informs.

"Okay... But what am I supposed to do? And isn't Eren being taken to like.. The... Courthouse or something?" You ask, trying to remember the rumours you had heard recently.

"We will have a decoy dress up as Eren. No one besides us knows what Eren really looks like. You will be with Levi, shadowing Eren and Annie in case something goes wrong." He informs.

"Levi? Will he be good to go by next week?" You question, concern lacing your voice.

"You are dismissed L/N." Erwin says as he orders you out. You let out a sigh and give the man an agitated look before standing up and exiting the office.

"L/N? Are you going to go in?" A familiar voice asks. You turn your head and see Eren approaching you.

"I uh... No. I was just leaving." You reply as you lower your hand from the door handle. 

"I assume you heard right? They think Annie... Of all people.. Is the Female titan.." The boy says, clearly not wanting to believe that someone who he fought alongside of could be a mass murderer.

"Eren... I read up on Annie's files... She specialises in the same combat style the Female titan used." You inform as you see the boy tense and shoot you an angry look. "I'm not saying she is the shifter... But... If she is... Do you think you can bring yourself to do what needs to be done? Should the situation arise." You ask. Eren looks down as he clenches his fists.

"Only time will tell I guess.." Eren says as he lets out a small chuckle before walking past you, not bothering to even look at you. You stand alone in silence for a moment before snapping out of your staring contest with the floor. You shake your head and rest your hand back on the door handle. Hesitating for a moment, you then open the door.

"Levi?! What are you doing?!" You ask, voice mixing with anger and shock. You see Levi, hand pressed against the wall as he tries to balance himself while slowly walking along the wall. 

"I'm useless like this. Erwin already told me about the Female titan. I need to get back on my feet." Levi informs as he slowly walks, wincing and grabbing his side.

"Well yeah... I know you do. But Levi, you still have a week to get better. Please take it easy? Don't push yourself too hard." You plead as you take a seat next to the bed. Levi lets out a sigh as he nods and returns to his bed.

"How have you been?" He asks calmly.

"Eh... Can't complain I guess. ... I've been... Angry. Really angry. What reason would anyone have for killing all those scouts like she did? And what? If the Female titan is like Eren, then the Colossal and Armoured titan could be shifters too. I just... Why would anyone who lives within the walls... Actively try to destroy them?" You ramble out.

"Well. In about a weeks time, you'll be able to ask one of them yourself." Levi states.

"Then we can't fail." You say as you stare at Levi, eyes full of determination.
