First Sight (Marina)

Chapter 12

Maya was gathering her phone and keys, heading out of the station to go and meet Carina for their date, she had everything set up and ready, they only needed to meet. Before her hand pushed the doorknob to open the door and leave, Jack's voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Maya can we talk?" he asked quietly waiting for an answer.

 "About?" asked the impatient blonde that was itching to lay her eyes on Carina after a long day.

 "Us" he replied bluntly.

She took in a deep sigh and turned towards the door replying "Not now Gibson" as she left the station slamming the door behind her.

He kept making her more and more confused every day, why was he acting so weird after she signed the papers? She didn't want to stress about it now, she just wanted to reach the brunette and spend time with her.

She made her way towards the hospital, a smile plastered on her face at the thought of seeing her favorite pair of eyes, even though they saw each other the day before, and spent time together for most of the week, she missed her.

The brunette is always occupying her mind, whatever she was doing, whoever she was talking to, on each call, Carina was always on her mind. Knowing that she will see her by the end of each day made her motivated and excited to be with her and live each day.

She spotted the tall brunette standing in the parking lot waiting for her, talking to a man, as she got closer she recognized him as her brother.

"Hey" she softly greeted them, making their attention land on her.

 She didn't know if Carina has told her brother about their relationship, so she didn't greet her with a kiss, but was surprised when the brunette leaned in and pecked her on her lips. She didn't mind at all. So now she got her affirmation that Andrew knew about them.

"Are you ready?" asked the blonde.

"Si, let's go. Ciao Andrea" said Carina as she intertwined her hands with Maya leading them to her car.

The blonde was stopped by Andrew when he put a soft hand on her shoulder.

 "Maya can I have a quick word?" he asked.

 "Yeah sure" she replied giving a confused glance towards Carina but she just shrugged and whispered "I'll be waiting for you in the car" giving her a kiss on her cheek and skipping her way to the car.

Maya suddenly got nervous, why did Andrew want to speak to her? Did she fuck something up?

Her thoughts were interrupted when he looked back at her with soft kind eyes, and a small smile on his face. 'Damn this family has some great eyes' she thought to herself as his eyes reminded her of Carina's.

"No need to be nervous" he chuckled when he saw the panic on her face.

 "I just wanted to thank you for always being here for my sister, you know with everything that happened with her patient recently, and her always wanting to take care of me and my father, she is truly happy with you, I haven't seen her this happy in a while, seriously thank you" he continued, grabbing Maya's hands in his to show her how sincere he was.

His touch was comforting too, the DeLuca siblings are literally perfect. They know how to comfort you, no flaw visible, they were the right people to surround yourself with.

She was surprised to say the least, she didn't know that Carina told him everything that had happened between them. 

She replied with the same thankful tone, "No need to thank me, honestly I should be the one thanking her daily because she is always here for me too, no matter what, I might've saved her physically from danger a couple of times, but she has saved me from far worse, and I am happy to be with her too" she said trying not to get emotional as she looked towards where the parked car was, and saw the brunette patiently waiting for her, watching their interaction through the rear view mirror, and gave her a small smile when she was caught watching them.
