First Sight (Marina)

Chapter 18

"Hey" whispered Maya softly as she stroked the brunette's hair when she saw her brown eyes open slowly.

Carina groaned as she nuzzled her head more into the blonde's neck.

"Come on let's go home, freshen up, cuddle and sleep" suggested Maya as she pressed a soft kiss on her forehead to wake her up even more.

The brunette grunted and quickly stood up, a frown evident on her face as she started putting her shoes on.

Maya noticed her weird demeanor and asked her.

"Are you okay?" she asked warily, not wanting her brunette to be in a bad mood.

Carina just hummed and nodded while not looking at Maya giving her her back, she stood up and made her way to get her stuff and went to her car.

The blonde got even more confused, why was she acting like this?

She decided not to provoke her with more questions, she knew if the brunette was bothered by something that she would tell her.

She sighed and got up, took off the dirty clothes she still wore on the call and wearing her street clothes.

Thankfully on her way out of the station they didn't bump into Jack.

But on her way out, Maya saw a very confused and concerned Andy, the blonde furrowed her eyes slightly towards the Latina as in asking 'what's wrong?'.

Andy shrugged her shoulders and explained, "I saw Carina crying when she was leaving the station, did you two fight?" she asked.

The blonde got even more confused, and shook her head slowly as she tried to think of what was bugging her girlfriend.

She quickly made her way to Carina's car jogging slowly towards the driver's seat noticing the brunette sat in the passenger seat looking out into the window clearly not in the right state to drive.

Maya climbed into the driver's seat but didn't turn the car on, instead she softly took Carina's hand in hers wanting to have eye contact with the brown eyes, but sighed when Carina didn't turn around to look at her.

"Carina look at me please" she said softly hoping this time she would turn around.

The brunette took a soft breath in and turned to look at the brunette, a soft forced smile on her lips as her eyes were filled with tears threatening to fall.

"What's wrong?" asked Maya as she wiped away one rogue tear that rolled down Carina's cheek.

"Nothing's wrong" replied Carina in a small shaky voice shaking her head left and right, still displaying her fake smile trying to convince Maya she's okay.

"You're clearly not okay, talk to me please" urged the blonde, her heart broke as she didn't know hat was causing her girlfriend to feel down.

"I'm just emotional bambina, I'm okay really" said the brunette trying to widen her smile, squeezing Maya's hand to try and convince her more, giving her a quick peck on her lips as she quickly turned away towards her window as her eyes welled up with more tears not wanting Maya to see.

The blonde sighed audibly as she turned around and turned on the ignition of the car still holding on to Carina's hand squeezing it reassuringly as she made her way home.

They both stood silently in the bathroom getting ready to cuddle in the bathtub to get their muscles relaxed.

Maya was making her way to get in first so Carina can lean onto her like they usually do.

She was stopped by a soft hand on her forearm stopping her from getting in, she turned around and looked at the brunette with a confused look on her face.
