Walking among the horrified crowd and entering the restricted perimeter that was isolating the dead body from everything and everyone else, the man was instantly stopped by some safety officer. "Sir, please. You can't get in."

The man sighed impatiently then stretched his hand to his back pocket, taking his notecase out from it, raising it up in front of the officer's face and opening it, showing him his ID card. "Kim Namjoon, the general prosecutor of this case.. May I?" He spoke in a firm tone, staring intensely into the young officer's eyes.

"Oh my god." He slightly panicked, recalling not-so-sweet incidents happened with that certain investigator because of his low temper. "I'm sorry, Sir." He mumbled an apology, stepping back from his way.

Namjoon stepped in between the yellow tapes carefully while putting on some gloves. Then, he kneeled lightly in front of her, raising the tarpaulin covering Chloe's dead body. He raised an eyebrow in little surprise because of how much rotten blood was on her face and on her entire lower body.

If he wasn't already used to this kind of scenes, he would've definitely been throwing his entire soul up.

Seems like she wasn't an angel, Namjoon firstly thought as he straightened up again and went out of the perimeter. "Any information about the victim's family?"

"Yes, Sir." One of the officers approached him, opening a file and reading from it. "No siblings. Her mother died since she was a child, and her father was killed two years ago."

Namjoon turned his full attention to him, raising his eyebrows in slight surprise as he tilted his head as to the side. "Her father was killed?"

"Yes, he was a mafia boss, and he had a lot of enemies.." The officer answered then looked up at him. "I guess it was expected for his end to be that way, Sir."

"This is not where we say our expectations." Namjoon said sharply, raising his voice a little, making the other officers turn to them. "I want the file of the father's murder."

"Officer Kim.." He turned around to face the owner of the voice just called him. "First of all, I want to express how glad I am to be working with you on this case." He said, extending his hand out for Namjoon to shake. "Jung Hoseok, the second investigator."

Namjoon silently shook his hand, giving him a small nod.. Arrogant by nature, by the way.

"Well.. The victim's father, as you're told already, was a gangster which means he had more enemies than we could investigate."

"What happened in that case?"

"It was closed." Hoseok shook his head. "No one could know the killer. It was highly assumed that he was a mafia boss as well, but there was lack of evidence."

"Why?"

"There was no evidence at all. It was either a very professional killer.." Then, Hoseok shrugged, chuckling a little at his own next words. "Or a policeman."
