"Abort it."
Carlin stared at Jungkook in disbelief, feeling her body shivering just because of the idea. "That's even more scary." She whispered, her voice shaking a little. "I can't do that."
"WHY CAN'T YOU?!" He suddenly exclaimed, his voice raising a little which caused her to flinch. So, he sighed heavily, trying to restrain his anger. "Look, Carlin.. None of us is ready for it. You're ruining a relationship we haven't even started yet by doing that."
"I can't kill my own baby." She shook her head, feeling pain in her head and stomach again. "That's not how I want to start my life as a mother.. Ready or not, no way in hell I'm gonna do that." She almost hissed while placing her hand protectively on her belly before quickly getting out of the car and heading to her house.
"Carlin, wait." Jungkook said as he followed behind her and into her house. "You have to do that, and it's not only for us.. It's for this baby itself.. You're being unfair because we won't be able to handle it. We have no idea how to deal with it."
"We will try to." She said, her voice softening, almost sounding pleading. "We'll learn to be good parents for him or her.. To love this baby is not that much of an issue.. And other things can be handled."
Jungkook examined her crying face before looking away and shrugging. "And what if I know I won't be able to do this? What if I don't even want to try to do this now?"
Carlin stayed quiet for a few heavy seconds before shaking her head. "Then, don't."
"You.." He paused for a moment, trying to understand what she actually meant. "You said that you won't leave me."
"Well, I think I need to change a small thing about what I said before.. We won't leave you." Then, she looked at him again with very sad eyes, maybe the saddest he'd ever seen. "Now, you're the one who's willing to leave.. You are leaving us, Jungkook."
When he realized that the more he would stare into those eyes of hers, the more he was going to believe that he actually could go through this kind of future.. Which meant he would be attached not just to her but the baby as well. And he didn't want to. He didn't want to be hung up on anyone again. The pain he felt a few years ago wasn't something he wanted to experience ever again.
Jungkook shook his head furiously, pushing away his thoughts. "This is insane, Carlin.. It's fucking insane." He hissed in anger, hating the fact that he caused her to close her eyes in an attempt not to show her fear, but he knew that he just made her feel that way for the second time at the same day. But he didn't want to change his mind at that moment.
So, he just left.
• • • • The morning after, Jungkook headed to the police station with an already messed up mind because of the things happened the day before and for the fact that he didn't even text Carlin. He knew that the way he was acting was wrong, but he couldn't help but to panic.
