"You're gonna sleep now?" Jungkook asked quietly, receiving a small nod from Carlin. "Good night." He said while patted her head, before kissing her forehead gently.
After he made sure that Carlin was peacefully asleep, he went out of the room, closing the door slowly behind him then headed towards the nursery.
He just couldn't wait any longer to see his little girl and watch her angelic face, even if it would be from behind the glass wall.
As he was watching Cara sleeping peacefully and imagining how she was going to look like in the future, his mind went back to a certain day four years ago.
With the girl he loved.
A few days before she died.
▶▶"Kids?! You gotta be kidding me."
"I'm not." Jungkook shook his head, speaking seriously. "I don't mind having kids with you. I do want to-"
"Kookie, we are kids!" Tara exclaimed, pointing her finger between both of them before chuckling in disbelief at the thought. "We are 18, remember? This sounds so crazy."
At that moment, Jungkook couldn't know why exactly he felt so flattered; it was either for her dimply smile, her voice, or the way she just called him, which he had always loved. Only from her.
"Don't start dozing off like that." She said, snapping her fingers in front of his face so that he'd pay attention to her again. "What were you thinking about?" She narrowed her eyes at him in fake suspicion.
"You." He mumbled while looking forward, not noticing the shy smile appeared on her face. He chuckled lightly then pulled her in his arms, back hugging her then placed a small kiss on the top of her head. "You really don't wanna have kids with me?"
"Of course, I do." She said softly, a small smile appearing on her face too as she tilted her head to the side a little to look at him. "But not now.. My brothers may kill both of us if that happens." She raised her eyebrows, reminding him of her brothers.
"Seriously? Why would they?"
"I guess, Joonie is gonna be fine with this." She took a second, imagining her brothers' true reactions. "But Tae will never appreciate it.. You know he can be over protective, not so open-minded like Namjoon."
"I know. He is pretty annoying." Jungkook rolled his eyes, remembering the times when Taehyung would see them just talking with each other and wouldn't leave until he made sure that Jungkook was leaving with him.
"It's not like he's annoying." Tara found her smile coming back to her face again as she looked down for a second. "He just.. doesn't know how to tell me that he loves me and cares for me."
