Kate is one of the most hard-working engines on the Godson Railway. She is one of the best hard-working engines one the railway, helping out with passenger or express trains, even though she was designed to pull mixed-traffic trains. Kate loved speeding down the mainline at nearly 100MPH, but she is wise beyond her own years. She even helps out whenever she can for other engines when they're either in for repairs, or unable to take the trains.
One morning, Kate was in Southampton sheds when Ms Avery came up to her. "I see you've been pulling passenger trains well, Kate." Ms Avery said. "The passengers liked being pulled by you."
"I try my best to make the passengers happy, ma'm." Kate replied.
"I'm glad you do." Ms Avery said. "Now so you can have a bit of a break from pulling passenger trains, I want to see how you can handle trucks. There's a small line of trucks at Beershorn Quarry for Strickland Junction on the EC&K Branchline." Ms Avery added.
"Um, ok... ma'm." Kate said slightly nervous. She had never pulled trucks before, because for most of her working life she was mostly used for passenger trains.
The Beershorn Quarry Company is a company based at Beershorn, which is responsible for the supply and transportation the supply and transportation of rock on the Beershorn Branch Line. The company operates at a quarry at the end of the Beershorn Branch Line, which is known as Beershorn Quarry.
At the quarry, South was arranging Kate's small train of rocks when he heard Kate's whistle and then saw her coming into view.
South is a Dowlais Ironworks Class D 0-4-0T, he has a dark green livery with black and white stripes. He has the words 'Southern Star' on each side of his side tanks. He also has the number four on each side of his bunker. South is a privately-owned shunter who works for the Beershorn Quarry Company, based at Beershorn Quarry.
South, unlike most engines, hauling trucks makes him feel important. He is a reliable, honest, and hard-working engine. He keeps a stern attitude with the troublesome trucks and holds zero patience towards troublesome antics. Although South means well, he can at times feel cooped up in the works, but always cheers up at the chance to stretch his wheels.
"Hello South, bet you didn't expect me to come didn't you?" Kate asked as she pulled up to the dark green tank engine.
"What the- Kate, are you doing here?" South asked. He was surprised to see the silver express engine in the Quarry.
"I'm here to help out with the trucks on the branch line." Kate replied. "Anyway, i guess that's my train your in front of?" She asked.
"Yep, I just finished arranging it when you came in." South said.
"Thanks South." Kate thanked.
Kate reversed back on to her train and coupled up, South was slightly concerned as he saw the trucks snickered. "We'll hold her back as soon as she starts moving." The trucks muttered. Then it happened, Kate suddenly jerked the train into motion as if the trucks weighted nothing. South and the other trucks gasped at the sight. "The trucks will have to do better than that if they wanna stop me, later South." Kate said as she puffed down the branchline to Strickland Junction. Kate chuffed slowly and carefully down the branchline, the trucks tried to pull back and push her multiple times. But their tricks were useless against her, Kate couldn't help but smile.
