A new oil refinery opened on the Godson Railway. It was used to bring fuel to important machines like road vehicles, construction equipment, and diesel engines. While it was not very big, it was also not a welcome sight. Thick dirty black smoke bloomed out of the refinery's big funnels, making a foul smell fly in the air. None of the engines, Olivia nor her friends liked the refinery as the smell sickened them.

The tankers there were even rarely maintained, making the most troublesome. Whenever one of the engines was about, they would throw nasty insults on them. Though, it wasn't all gloom and doom. There were a three diesel engines that worked at the refinery who were nice to the engines, despite the horrible conditions they were working in. They're names were Brian, a BR Class 08, Kevin, a British Rail Class 47, and Helen, a BR Class 60.

The diesels would normal take the oil trains, but most of the time they were broken down. The refinery's manager was on a money trip and only cared about the money flow, that was the reason behind the refinery's poor condition. Everyone hated the oil refinery, even the animals that lived near it. They all knew about the effects of pollution and feared that something bad would happen if the refinery continued to operate.

One evening at Southampton Sheds, the engines talked about the refinery and they were pretty annoyed.

"Why do we have to put up with that stupid refinery?" Henrietta groaned.

"It seems we don't have a choice as of now." Keshaun groaned.

"We are getting quite sick of you complaining Henrietta." Olivia sighed. "Both Mr Croft and Ms Avery are doing everything in their power to get it shut down.

"Then why can't they?" Henrietta asked.

"It's because of that dimwit of a manager won't let them." William answered. "He wants to keep it open so that he can raise more money and more and more money."

"He also said that he'll make us pay since he has a good influence over the safety board." Christian added.

"Good influence? Pah!" Hammond retorted. "What a load of rubbish!"

"I agree." Eric said. "Despite that's the place where Phil, Kevin, and Helen get their fuel from, as well as other vehicles, it's not a good place at all. I sometimes wish the controllers would just get fuel from somewhere else despite the expense."

"That manager should be put behind bars if that's all he cares about." Andrea sighed. "His oil refinery is likely to spring a leak and that oil could catch fire."

"In fact." Kate replied. "David told me that one of the oil tankers nearly caused an accident at the forest when Lenry was taking them today."

"Really?" Henrietta asked. "What happened?"

Just then, a very exhausted Lenry came into the sheds.

"Evening you lot." Lenry yawned. "I've had a very long day, anyway what were you all talking about?" He asked as he puffed onto the turntable.
