After having a delicious breakfast - sorry - brunch, I cleared the table and Miracle offered to help me.
When she left the room - being in the kitchen to clean the dishes - I was thrown looks from basically everyone which caused me to roll my eyes.

"Y'all. Stop." I groaned, not that that helped any. If anything, it made it worse. Especially from my mother, Dot, and Jules.

Miracle popped her head back in the dining room saying, "The dishes aren't going to clean themselves!"

Giving everyone a glare, I followed her into the kitchen.

Tasking myself the task of washing and giving the easy job of drying to Miracle, I set to work. Taking my spiral ring off and placing it on the counter, I plunged my hands in the soapy water and started washing.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Miracle pick the ring up and examine it. "Didn't know rings fascinated you." I commented as I rinsed a plate off.

She laughed, making me smile, and shook her head. "I actually don't really like wearing jewelry to be completely honest. I just like shiny things." She smiled. "Meg, on the other hand, really likes jewelry and she actually makes some in her free time."

"Cool." I said in a somewhat monotone voice, placing the cup down with a bit more force than what was probably necessary.

Miracle frowned and put the ring back down on the counter, turning to me. "You okay?" She asked me.

No. Not really. I didn't like her being with Meg which was ridiculous. I met her about four days and I'm being stupid.

Besides, she likes Meg. That much is obvious. It's like they're best friends or whatever, they're that close.

"Well, I would hate to be that dishrag right now. You're squeezing it like you hate it or something. Oh my gosh! Are you mad at me? Is it something I did when I was drunk?" She asked me in a worried tone.

I turned to look at her, a confused expression forming on my face.

"Oh my god, it is! I'm sorry. I'm not normally like that. Whatever I did, I swear I'll never do again!"

I was about to put my hands on her shoulders to stop her from rambling but I realized my hands were wet and soapy so I just flicked her with water.

She stopped mid-sentence and gaped at me. "Did you just-?"

I helped her jaw back up from the ground and closed her mouth, smirking. "Wouldn't want you to catch some flies. I hear they taste terrible." I left a tiny soap beard and waited to see what she would do.

She reacted much like I would've and soon we were splashing each other, our original tasks long forgotten.

"What the-?"

We turned towards the voice and saw everyone standing there with concerned and somewhat shocked looks on their faces.

We probably looked foolish and had made a big, wet, bubbly mess around the kitchen, not to mention that we had gotten at least half of that mess on us.

The person that had spoken was my mother, who was in the front giving us each a stern look.

We each pointed to the other one, preparing to blame each other on the mess we had created. "She started it," was the immediate follow up.

Mom seemed about to say something but the doorbell rang, She hesitated for a moment and then said, "I'll talk to you two after I get this." With that, she went to answer the door.

No one moved for a couple seconds and then Dot grabbed two dry dish towels and handed them to us, "You two look like complete disasters."

Jules and Meg shot him a look and were about to say something but when they noticed the playful smile on his face that showed that he was just teasing us - although I don't doubt that there was some truth in that statement - they shut their mouths.

A couple moments later, my mom called to Miracle, "Miracle, darling, it's for you."

Curious as to who it was, we followed her to the front door.

Standing there was an older man in a business suit that looked much like Miracle. When he saw her, he smiled.

When she saw him, she stopped smiling, "Father." She said. "What the hell are you doing here?"
